Back and forth, that is.
La Roux are straying away from the sound that made them who they are and are venturing into a whole other genre. Elly Jackson, the visible half of the duo, has said “My vocal style’s changed [for] one, so that’s going to be different. It’s a bit deeper and rounder and sexier … and definitely the musical style’s going to change, as well.”
Never thought that jj would ever cover The-Dream, but here it goes.
Essex born Jessica Cornish burst onto the scene in November 2010 in a flurry of excitement surrounding tracks Do It Like A Dude and Price Tag. The 22 year old singer wrote poetry as a child and began her career on the stage with a role in the West End production of Whistle Down The Wind. A trip to study musical theatre at the celebrated Brit School led to her first record deal with Gut Records and early interest from RB circles in the United States.
The original form of this track was one of the six intentionally leaked tracks from SiA’s album We Are Born. That version was good enough to make this song a staple for us in 2010. But, when we heard the acoustic version, which was a bonus track on the iTunes edition of the album and now has gained enough ground to be the track features on the official video. This is SiA at her most beautiful and sonically eloquent. This is a ditty to save for life.
How beautiful is this?
Frankmusik is back with somewhat of a mediocre first single from his sophomore album. We expected a big dance song with fun lyrics and robust chorus. This is just halfway there. Too bad, we had high expectations.
Michael Jackson’s unreleased material is making it out and it feel like it’s without consent from the King Of Pop, because, had he been alive, we would not allow such lackluster hits and half-done songs out. But, we could only wish for the scraps that are left from his great legacy. So, here’s the fame-mongering cover.
