News just in that the legendary Alanis Morissette has given birth to a baby boy. “Alanis Morissette got a very special Christmas package: a son, People magazine has confirmed. ”Alanis Morissette and Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway welcomed a baby boy, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, on Dec. 25th,” says a rep for the new mom. “All are healthy and happy.”
According to ONTD and a couple other sources, Britney Spears‘ first single off of her highly anticipated album is called “Hey Over There.” There is also another track called “Hold It Against Me.” That is alleged. The song sounds like a scream of sorts and we hope it’s up to par with “3,” because that track rocked us to our bone. This is exciting news for 2011. We are looking forward to more pop from the pop princess herself.
James Blake’s first single from his debut album “Limit To Your Love” had him acclaimed as a pioneer of dub. However, this track showcases more than just that. This song is not only progressive in arrangement, but also oozes emotion-invoking minimalism. It sounds like a ballad from the future. It’s as if James Blake sat down and took heavy notes from Bjork’s “Hyperballad” and stripped its essentials back to the root of the feelings. This song is a lovely and unexpected tidbit of the future that closes off 2010 very nicely.

The Swedish band that made it big with their two sombre winter albums have decided to take a different route and cover some rap songs. It’s an interesting concept that actually works just fine. Click here to be forwarded to another blog to investigate the leak.
Yes, “yuletide favorites.” “Yule” is actually a Nordic word, further proof that Christmas is Pagan in origin. At any rate, Mariah is doing the whole festive shebang here. Click below for that other seasonal lead single.
The new direction that Sam Sparro is taking for his sophomore effort is very much a revival of early house music much like the one Alphabeat did, but this one’s gayer. It’s like early catwalk dance music that made Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Claudia Schaffer stars. It’s right up our alley. The only known and existing rare cover of a Teena Marie song. “I Need You Lovin’” was done by the ill-fated Cover Girls. This is a Tony Moran remix of the cover which appeared on their 1996 album. Rare and not found anywhere online!
Lovely little disco tune from the one and only Lady T.
