Diane Birch releases covers EP

1

We discovered Diane Birch serendipitously and fell in love with her. So, when we heard she was to release a covers album of some 80s and 90s classics, we were ready to jump on it. It’s downloading as of now on iTunes, so there will be no review for now, but we are sure it will be lovely.

Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 481

2

“Years go by
Will I still be waiting
For somebody else to understand
Years go by
If I’m stripped of my beauty
And the orange clouds
Raining in head
Years go by
Will I choke on my tears
Till finally there is nothing left
One more casualty
You know we’re too easy Easy Easy”

- Tori Amos on “Silent All These Years”

José González is coming to Kuwait!

3

Jose Gonzalez, one of our favorite sombre folkies, is coming to Kuwait. REUSE 4.0 is clocking him in between his Australian and European tour with his new band Junip to stop over in Kuwait City for a one night only show at the environmentally conscious exhibition. His show will be of his solo material from both his albums, Veneer and In Our Nature, which are Loft965.com favorites. The show will take place in the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK).

Let’s hope we hear some new songs alongside classics like “Heartbeats,” “Crosses” and the impeccable cover of Kylie Minogue’sHand On Your Heart.” Click below for more information on how to buy the tickets for the January 11th show.

The strongest of which is not a folkloric covers, but a song she wrote herself specifically for this album. “When Christmas Comes” follows in the same soul sub-genre of a little-known track Mariah did for her Charmbracelet album titled “Subtle Invitation,” which was also a standout. It fuses elements of soul, gospel, pop and balladry into one, making for a confection that only Mariah could come up with – perfect.
