1Feist and Peaches team up on cover of Tweet’s “Oops (Oh My)”
1The two Canadian alt music powerhouses (who also used to be roommates, did you know that?) teamed up on stage to deliver a quirky version of Tweet’s classic pop song “Oops (Oh My).” A song about masturbation.

Michael Jackson’s next single is from the “Thriller” era!
4Allegedly, news is in that after the two fairly-recent and unpolished singles released from Michael Jackson’s posthumous album Michael (“Hold My Hand” and “Hollywood Tonight”), a track that is from the Thriller era will be the third single. The song is titled “Behind The Mask.” It was penned in 1979 and wasn’t allowed to be on his sixth album because of legal battles. Although, it has been covered by several artists, the MJ version is about to get its own release! Good news!

Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 510

Must-Watch: Video Premiere: “Friday” by Rebecca Black
2You are probably surprised as to why we said this is a “must-watch.” Well, as tacky as it is, this is the stuff that sells to tweens, and this demographic makes the charts. No, we would never listen to it on our iPod, but it’s so kitschy it has to get somewhere.

3Legendary: “I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flower In My Hair)” by Sandi Thom
1Sandi Thom was a graduate of the first class of MySpace sensations and she delivered like many didn’t. Although we don’t really grasp these lyrics as we think the title is dichotomous confusing the punk movement with the hippie phase. But, still the drum beat on this one is unlike any other and, as far as singing along, it’s up there with the greats.
Sexy Track: “I Wanna Go” by Britney Spears
3Nobody does dance-pop infusion like Britney Spears. You can say what you want to say about her, but in reality, musically, she has always delivered the beats in perfection. This track is a big dance floor filler which will give you feeling of being suspended in stasis. It has all the right cuts and builds up to be a raunchy stomper that we have come to expect from Britney Spears. Definitely, up to par.
Video Premiere: “Spider Web” by Tatianna
1We woke up this morning with a press release on this new artist in our mailbox. The video looked like it was a dance song, but it’s actually a ballad. Nice visual though it sounds like another ballad, not sure what it is.
Lofty Prediction: Lady Gaga will release her second single “Judas” before the album!
1It might not seem like it, but “Born This Way” has been released for more than a month and it has already lost so much steam! The track wasn’t strong enough to carry an album all by itself, that is why we think that Lady Gaga will release her rumored second single “Judas” before her album Born This Way. First, there is too much of a gap between the first single and the album, which will be released in 2 months on May 23rd. Second, both her record label and her know that people are more likely to buy the single without the album being available. That way, the song its video and remixes will get more airtime and still manage to bring in the big numbers, even if it comes a week or two before the album. What do you think?

3This is a beautiful and funny little “impromptu” cover of “Nu-Di-Ty.”
George Michael to release new album inspired by house music!
1Just when you thought he actually retired George Michaels comes out with a synth-infused cover of New Order’s “True Faith,” a remastered version of his epic album Faith and news on a whole new album!
“Somebody said to me, “This album is going to be like a more electronic Faith, because your writing with that directness again.” I think there’s a lot more joy to put in the writing this time around. Since I’ve been out as a gay man, house music has been more of an influence in my life. So ultimately as a gay man, you don’t really stop listening to club music as early as straight people do and I wanted the album to reflect that,” Michael explained to BBC Radio 2.
Video Premiere: “My Name Is Trouble” by Keren Ann
3This almost passed us by with us knowing of its existence. This little number is a beautiful ditty from the same person who brought us the clap-tastic “Lay Your Head Down.” It is the lead single from her album 101 and is highly recomended by the Loft. Go get it!
