Can we get some new material please?
Lady Gaga performs on Oprah!
1Did you like Lady Gaga’s new video for “Judas?”
19If you haven’t seen it, it’s here. We personally think that Lady Gaga pushes too many elements into a couple of minutes. it’s too congested with images and doesn’t really serve the purpose. That last dress felt like it was a futuristic kimono, no relations. And the black Jesus personified is yet another book taken from the Madonna book. She isn’t even pushing the envelope in this one, she could have done so much more. At any rate, we it is not her worst, but it’s just too much of something.
What do you think?
Legendary: “Touch It” by Monifah
1In the book of best songs by one hit wonders this is up there. Here, Monifah decided to ditch the fact that she has a beautiful voice and just gets really raunchy and makes a splash, no pun intended. Crass, maybe. Fun, always.
Rihanna censored in Kuwait!
1
We actually don’t know where this blog got this from, but its all over. It’s not new to us. Mariah’s Rainbow cover was turned from David LaChappelle sex-candy chic into an advert for a nursery. But at any rate, here is Rihanna modified by official to look like for us the people.
Must-Watch: Video Premiere: “Judas” by Lady Gaga
4Lady Gaga’s second single off of Born This Way has gotten the video treatment. This is it, for all of you waiting!
Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 528
1Video Premiere: “Dancefloor” by Bridgette Fontaine featuring Grace Jones
1This is actually quite fierce! Grace Jones will do that to a track, but Bridgette Fontaine is rocking it like hell, too. Did she just say “Love sick/Little dick!”
Meiko touring with KT Tunstall!

1As a part of the promotional campaign to launch Nerina Pallot’s forth album Year Of The Wolf, Loft965.com has been sent an exclusive performance of her new song “If I Lost You Now.” We definitely like what we hear and can’t wait for the album to drop on June 13th, 2011!
Introducing… Abigail Washburn
1If American old-time music is about taking earlier, simpler ways of life and music-making as one’s model, Abigail Washburn has proven herself to be a bracing revelation to that tradition. She—a singing, songwriting, Illinois-born, Nashville-based clawhammer banjo player—is every bit as interested in the present and the future as she is in the past, and every bit as attuned to the global as she is to the local. She pairs venerable folk elements with far-flung sounds, and the results feel both strangely familiar and unlike anything anybody’s ever heard before. To put it another way, she changes what seems possible.
Miley Cyrus covers Nirvana!
1Now we understand why Prince believes that artists should ask the songwriter before covering songs. What in the world does Miley Cyrus know about the depth of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
First Listen: “Shut Up” by Ledisi
2RuPaul is casting for Drag Race season 4!
2We need some international drag stars on this one!
Mariah Carey calls twins “Moroccan” and “Monroe”
3We really don’t do much gossip, but it is very interesting that Mariah Carey, who recently had twins (one girl, one boy) called her son Moroccan. We knew she had a Moroccan room in her lavish NYC apartment, but we didn’t know she loved us Arabs that much! And, of coure Monroe is named after Marilyn, whom she idolizes. Cute names.
Kylie Minogue rocks Virginia!
1Is she doing a video for every tour date?
Official cover art and track list of Lisa Miskovsky’s “Violent Sky”
1Lisa Miskovsky is ready to take on 2011 with her new album Violent Sky. This years looks like its the year of the Swedes! The cover art is not so bad. We give it a 6/10. The track list is below, click for it.
Video Premiere: “All And Everyone” by PJ Harvey
1What would 2011 be without PJ Harvey? A loud of emptiness. Harvey’s on a roll to make videos for her great album Let England Shake. This is another in a string of videos. We better absorb everything she throws our way because she allegedly threatened to be on a decade’s hiatus. Not cool, PJ!
Sexy Track: “Are You Leaving” by Erik Hassle
1Erik Hassle is no stranger to sexy tracks. If this buzz single is a snippet of what we are getting for his second album, then it’s going to be a great year! Here, Erik Hassle does what he does best, merging school-house rock with lyrics of longing. Much like our favorite “Wanna Be Loved,” Hassle manages to emulate true emotions of love and attachment whilst being a rock star. This song has the power to get you up out of your seat to play air guitar and it has the power to make you cry. It’s a lovely confection.
