Lira’s fourth album Return To Love delivers on so many levels. The first single is one of our favorite tracks of the season. After “Phakade” will come “When I Dance.” It’s a lovely uptempo track that ushers in summer moods. We say exclusive because she tweeted us directly. We hope there’s a great breezy video to match.

1Mariah Carey to release an album in 2011
2This could be one of the greatest news pieces of the year. Mariah Carey is said to have already started working on her new album following her delivery of twins – Monroe and Moroccan. The album is said to be reflective of the journey she has been through and, according to her husband Nick Cannon, it’s set to drop sometime this year. Good news.

Lady Gaga’s promo ad for “Born This Way”
1Lady Gaga and Madonna are allegedly cousins!

A genealogist is claiming that he looked back into Lady Gaga and Madonna’s French-Canadian lineage and found out that the two are actually cousins. That’s ninth cousins once separated. We thought he’s get that from their Italian ancestry but the link lies in Canada. The article also goes to link Gwen Stefani to Madonna. Now we know were all these women get their stale dancing from. The Floacist releases debut album!
1
The other half of Floetry is trying to get a piece of the pie. Since Marsha Ambrosius is all over the place now, the rapper or “floacist” is trying to make it to. This is the cover to her new release. We are not that excited for it as we are more into vocalists than spoken word/ rap. Still, it’s worth a mention.
Beverley Knight debuts tracks from her new album “Soul UK”
1We personally think that Beverley Knight is one of the most underrated singers of our time. We have followed her religiously and own everything she has done. Unfortunately, she could be carrying UK soul single-handedly these days (No Alexandra Burke is not consider soul music in our book). This is a special release. Soul UK is a covers album that compiles the best of soul and R&B from the United Kingdom. The country might not be known for it, but it sure has some great hidden gems. Had these artists had support and exposure in the US, they would be “mega” as we would like to say these days.
Paloma Faith working on new album!
2
The news is a-buzzin’ that one of Loft965′s favorites is in the studio laying some new tracks for her sophomore album. The singer who produced Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful? has everyone waiting for the sophomore. We loved that record, but we are more in love with Paloma Faith‘s visual image. We look forward to the new project and hope to see it by the end of the year.
