Sexy Track: “Yeah Right” by Dionne Bromfield
1Leave it to Amy Winehouse’s protegé to do what all of Prince’s protegé’s couldn’t – get past being a one hit wonder. We Dionne Bromfield was introduced to us she did the Motown classics to show us what she is capable of and it was very easy to digest. Now, she’s out on her own limb and doing original music. This single from her sophomore album Good For The Soul is just that – good for the soul. Not forgetting the Motown element, these tracks have modern sensibility with a Soul Train attitude. It can be a great radio tune if given the time, but it can also make you get up and shake it.
Legendary: “Chelsea Morning” by Joni Mitchell
1Sometimes when all new music fails you, old tunes will revive that dying sombre ghost inside each and every one of us. This is one of Joni Mitchell’s classics. This is a particularly beautiful live performance done for the BBC.

2Video Premiere: “Pressure” by Nadia Ali, Starkillers and Alex Kenji
3Nadia Ali is not only working at her solo projects but also collaborating. She know what made her famous and her vocals have become synonymous with third-wave house music. This is not our cup of tea but will do just fine in its circles.
Again: Music For July: Opusolar
6In usual July tradition, this compilation was put together really fast and given a haphazard collection. Still, we like it that way and we plan to continue doing so because everyone needs a little mess every once in a while. The beats are run-of-the-mill pop, Eurotrash ditties and Mykonos-dance. It’s all that you expect from a summer compilation. The songs will come and leave you fuzzy inside until your sweet tooth decays. So, keep it sunny and pump it up!
Nerina Pallot performs “Turn Me On Again” live!
1This is Nerina Pallot’s second single from her Year Of The Wolf album.
Cher works with Lady Gaga on new song!
1Video Premiere: “Soul Is Heavy” by Nneka
1Nneka is back with her second album with politically-oriented lyrics and a message in a form of a song directed to Nigeria. This one’s a little too heavy to be the first single and the music is nothing close to a homerun, but it’s worth a note.

Lykke Li to release “Rich Kid Blues” as fourth single!
2Critically acclaimed artist, Lykke Li, is still on the campaign for her second album, Wounded Rhymes. The album is spewing another single out in time for Fall. This time around the track “Rich Kid Blues” is getting the release and its not a surprise as it is one of the better, more polished songs on the sophomore disc. Let’s hope it gets the video treatment!
