First Listen: “Up” by James Morrison featuring Jessie J

James Morrison’s album features some heavyweights like Jessie J. She’s featured on this track, which sounds like any other James Morrison effort. Not bad. “Up” should be a single if anything, because he released that Nelly Furtado collaboration even though it wasn’t up to par. Melanie C talks about “The Sea,” Adele, Foo Fighters, Elbow and more!

She looks like she had enough of these questions. The Sea has leaked, but we haven’t listened to it yet. We’re still trying to figure out how to coordinate our Macbook pro library and iMac. We can’t believe she regretted releasing “On The Horizon,” but she is right. “Reason should have been the second single!

The original version of this song had better get a video and a release date or we’ve lost all faith in good pop music. The original is so stellar that it’s hard for me to digest this one or the video for it. I imagined the  other one to be a faux-live throwback TV performance reminiscent of the mid-60′s Motown performances but with color! This makes us a little sad, to see that this version settled for the version that makes the single. Please say it isn’t so!

Must-Watch: Video Premiere: “This Thirst” by Reham

We’ve followed Reham’s career for a while now and we are constantly reminded of how beautiful her lullabies are and how poignant and timely her lyrics are. When we originally listened to this track we knew it was written about Kuwait, but the video treatment for the song takes place in Dubai’s metro system and it’s quite lovely. It propels the song to a different level and brings it back to life for us. Watch for yourself!
