The 90s’ folk-rock band that offset the grunge movement with their dreamy and bluesy brand of alternative, Mazzy Star, are back after calling it quits 15 years ago. The band, whose most famous hit song is “Fade Into You,” are putting the final touches to their new project. On October 12, 2011, Hope Sandoval’s official website confirmed the duo would release their first new material in fifteen years later that same month. The double A-sided single, “Common Burn”/”Lay Myself Down”, will be released digitally on October 31, 2011, while a limited edition color vinyl will be released on November 8, 2011.
