Legendary: “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel” by Tavares

1

This legendary post goes back to one of the greatest eras in modern music history. Disco, came and uplifted everyone and made everything better. However, that was short-lived but the byproducts of this genre still with us today. There’s always a rock revival of sorts, but we think there should be a disco revival and this song is proof of how badly we need it.

Introducing… Selah Sue

3

Two minutes ago we were taken aback by Selah Sue. Her voice, attitude and her demeanor is not that of the average singer. We are very excited about her and are looking forward to listening to more and more. Here’s a synopsis of her story: “Selah Sue was not destined to become an artist. “I grew up in a really little town in Belgium, and none of my family was into music,” reveals the twenty‐one year old, with refreshing sincerity. “As a kid, I wanted to be a ballerina. I danced from the age of six to twelve”. Even without romanticising it, her story is like a fairy tale. It’s the story of a young musician who ignores her fate, and pours her anxieties into her songs and her guitar. “I had all these worries and depressions that I wrote down, it was a way of structuring my thoughts”.

Video Premiere: “Someone Like You” by Adele

1

To tell you the truth this song is an eyesore. For one the biggest ballads of this decade and the #1 song in the world, this is a sham and proof that some record companies are out there merely for profiteering. For a minute there, it looked like the record company was not going to release another video and only relied on her previous live performance, which propelled the sing to the top of the UK charts. But, this is just inexcusable, the live version’s video would have been a better offering.

Again: Music For September: Velvetore

8

This one’s been a long time coming. It’s one of those rare Soul/R&B-inspired compilations that we do one every blue moon. Not because we have a lesser love for the genre, but because there isn’t as much material to work with. So, before we go on a downward spiral with the upcoming Autumn-tinted offers, this one’s a velvety smooth one that serves for the transition of the music. The tracks are not run-of-the-mill R&B, but they are a mixture of sub-genres that fall under the broader umbrella, from neosoul to Motown to ragga. It covers many different sides really, but the common thing is the soul standard. We always long for great vocals laden on nice smooth staccato. This one might not be to all people’s taste, but it was necessary for us to round off all the corners of popular music we love.

Moreover, this one’s dedicated to the person on the cover, whose birthday was celebrated the day of the upload of this compilation. It’s a special dedication to him.

We hope you like this offering as one of our favorite songs of the year is on it. We won’t tell you which one it is, but it’s up to you to figure it out. Also, watch out for new artists that we are very excited about. As always, feedback is not only wanted, but also sexual.

Lady Gaga confirms “Marry The Night” as next single

2

It seems that Lady Gaga is continuing her streak of bad single choices. Born This Way, which has strong tracks like “Heavy Metal Lover” and “Government Hooker,” will get yet another horrid song for a single. “Marry The Night” is it. As id “You & I” wasn’t enough torture, this song, which first launched on Farmville, will get the video treatment. It sounds like a mid-90′s dance song by Corona or JX.
