Exclusive: Review of Britney Spears’ Abu Dhabi concert!
5The legendary Miss Britney Spears took her highly critically-acclaimed Femme Fatale Tour to Abu Dhabi this past weekend (11/11/11) as part of the F1 formula opening ceremony, and LOFT965.com had an exclusive press pass to give you all the inside details of what went down. It is safe to say that Britney spears has still got it, is using it and will probably have it for a long time to come. She certainly rocked the stage, and is probably going to earn her thrown as the queen of Abu Dhabi with her amazing, eye-popping, flashy dancing, and eye spectacle of a tour!
Upon arrival, it was clear that Yas Arena, where the concert was being held, seemed pretty packed. You always know if a concert is going to be good just by looking at the crowed. Doors opened for the show at 7:00 pm, and when inside there were two female DJ’s that took the stage and started playing some pretty decent dance tracks to hype up the crowed. Having a press pass gave me the privilege of being in the fan pit and very close to the stage, which was perfect because I was afraid the photos I would take wouldn’t come out clear due to distance, however they turned out to be good. At exactly 8:30 pm the girls on stage thanked the crowed and yelled if we are ready for Britney? The answer they received was very clear; “HELL YES WE WERE!!” A screen came on stage with Britney’s Femme Fatale album cover and had a countdown set for 30 minutes. With every passing minute the crowd grew bigger, and the anticipation got higher. The countdown came to 10 seconds with the crowd chanting out till zero and when it reached 00:00 minutes the infamous “It’s Britney, Bitch” was heard and the stage was lit up with hot pink neon words that flashed “Femme Fatale.” The crowd went wild – myself included!

The show begins with a video introduction in which Britney is arrested by the police after a chasing sequence. As she says “I’m not that innocent”, the video screens part and she appears sitting on a metallic throne in a silver costume to perform “Hold It Against Me.” The show is divided in five segments, and portrays a story in which Britney is a secret agent, who is chased by a stalker. The first section features her escaping from prison along with other female inmates. The second segment displays upbeat dance numbers and ends with a performance inspired by Marilyn Monroe (Amazing!). The third section features an Egyptian theme with fireworks and acrobatics. The fourth segment displays energetic routines and motorcycle costumes. The encore begins with a video interlude of Britney capturing the stalker, and is followed by two performances in which she defeats a group of ninjas.

1Mariah Carey’s song with John Legend “When Christmas Comes” has leaked!
3Little did we know that the head diva was going to market her last album Merry Christmas II You once again this year post-delivery. It’s also a great treat to know that our favorite song on the album “When Christmas Comes” is getting a release with John Legend. It’s a throwback original Mariah song with a lot of soul for the season. It would be great if this song got an extra festive video. It looks like it’s going to be another Mariah Carey Christmas, like all the rest of the were! Click here to be forwarded to a site not affiliated with the blog to merely investigate the leak.
Whitney Houston talks about Aaliyah, her new movie “Sparkle”
5Whitney Houston is back to movies because she didn’t do so well last time with the music. Still, we don’t think she put down the movie for a decade because Aaliyah passed away, diva had issues she had to sort out before she was all up on the red carpet. At any rate, let’s hope a great soundtrack comes out of it. We wonder who was cast in Aaliyah’s place, please don’t tell me Christina Milian!
Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 584
1Video Premiere: “The Right Thing (Sharam Jey Remix)” by Moby
Moby’s left the sombre beats for a minute and remixed this track for release. The video’s fun too. The Karaoke theme in music videos, a la Selena Gomez’s “Love You Like A Love Song,” is always a plus.
First Listen: “Love A Woman” by Mary J. Blige and Beyonce
1The collaboration between Beyonce and Mary J. Blige has surfaced, well at least a part of it. It sounds like Beyonce’s “Me, Myself & I” got civil unioned withMary J. Blige’s “Everything.” Not bad at all, but will likely only do well in the R&B Charts if released as a single from My Life II. Click to listen to a snippet of the track below.
Video Premiere: “Let The Be Love” by Melanie C
1The Sporty one is churning those videos out faster than they could release dates. This is one of the more atmospheric tracks on the album, as you can tell by the access of posing in the video. We listened to The Sea while we were stuck in Ethiopia on transit and we actually started liking it but once “Rock Me” came on we felt like barfing, she didn’t need to go there.
Haiku Review: “Outside The Skyline” by Miguel Migs
2Florence + The Machine’s live “Shake It Out” performance on X-Factor Australia!
1This single started out robust but them became mundane really fast, like a recent Radiohead album. The sophomore album Ceremonials is also not as striking as her debut. Florence Welch might have not produced as great of an album as Lungs, but this is by far not a flop. Let’s hope some tracks on their start shining through.
Chrip: Beyonce’s Twitter account activity or lack thereof!
The fact that @Beyonce registered a Twitter account yet hasn't ever used it makes me wonder if she will ever cross over to the digital age.—

Video Premiere: “Pump With Me” by Sahara Davenport
1This is probably one of the best (in comparison) tracks to come out of RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants, but the video is so camp without trying to be – it’s a little painful. Also, Sahara Davenoport looks much older. We expected a little Manila Luzon cameo appearance.

1RuPaul Drag Race Season 4 Trailer!
1Excited! Loving Sharon Needles as of now! She knows G.G. Allen, that’s a plus always! This season looks more morbid though, maybe it’s all the dark clothing.
