One of the only singers out there still reviving the punk movement, Peaches, has opted to go all disco on us. The Canadian rocker is about to release an EP that will consist of disco-era covers in 2012. Joining her on the Casablanca Reworks EP are the Gomma All Stars, aka Gomma Records artists Moullinex, Telonius, Munk and The Phenomenal Handclap Band, with originals by Michael Sembello (‘Maniac’, from the movie ‘Flashdance’), Harold Faltermeyer (‘Our Love’, as made famous by Donna Summer), Giorgio Moroder (‘You Can’t Run From My Love’, as made famous by Stephanie Mills) and the Skatt Brothers (‘Walk The Night’).
Rumors are circulating that one of the world’s greatest pop bands is about to reform for a brief public stint. The spicy fivesome are allegedly getting back together to perform at the 2012 Olympics in London. What a great way to raise the union flag! Geri Halliwell has said: “Singing at the games is a great idea and would be an amazing opportunity – and it’s a sign the Brits are back. This is our time. Everything is circular and now there’s a British pop revival. It needs to put itself back on the map on a world stage. This is our opportunity to show that British music, which has led and dominated the world, should do, always.”

The first batch of CD’s we ever bought consisted of Janet Jackson’s janet., Mariah Carey’s Music Box and Michael Jackson’s Dangerous from a store in Salmiya. So, naturally, we grabbed the one with the cover art that looked most diva-tastic from the bunch. Anyway, it turns out to be Pebbles before she went all crazy churchy on us. A good slice of 80-tinged pop!
Bjork is taking time out to ensure every fan within New York City limits has the chance to see her this year. The Icelandic diva is ready to performs a set of concerts in the heart of New York in promotion of her new album Biophilia. The tickets and details are available here.
Just when we episodically forgot about the lovely Joan Osborne, we are sent a link to some great news. The “One Of Us” singer is ready to give the world more music and more covers, which is what she is well-known for. This time her new album Bring It On Home, is a collection of blues classics. The first single is now out on iTunes. It’s called “Shake Your Hips.” Let’s hope it packs the punch!
Madonna’s album is getting prepped for a 2012 release. You know, the album that would support a tour, not the other way around. There were rumors circulating around of a leaked track list that exposed Madonna’s new album to be titled LUV, however, now we learn that that has changed. Madonna’s twelfth album is called…
