Ashanti readying new album “Earthly Woman”

Ashanti confirmed via twitter that she is currently in the studio working on her fifth album, that is being released off her own record label Written Entertainment. Ashanti is rumored to be working with a slew of producers and artist, thus far this is all that has been verified… LT Hutton, Dr. Dre, Game,Theron Feemster bka Neff-U, The-Dream, Cool & Dre, Warryn Campbell, Carvin & Ivan, Common, Darkchild and Tank who co-wrote and co-produced with her the song Paradise. Ashanti’s new single & album is set to be released sometime in 2011. Ashanti has also stated that she plans on releasing the album in the first quarter of 2012, with the first single being planned for a winter release. In July 2011 a promo picture was released, rap-up revealed she has been in the studio with big names including Dr. Dre, Game, and Lil Wayne, and Ashanti has said that a single is coming “very soon”. Single titles include “Paradise” and “She Can’t.”

Rebecca Ferguson is one of those rare reality show contestants who won’t budge to a certain sound or image when it comes to her solo career. Like this little gem we have here – a track that is robustly Britsoul, yet recalls beautiful elements from the 90s. If you didn’t know who was singing you’d think it was an old track by M People’s Heather Small. It’s a midtempo ditty that wavers between olden R&B sensibility and not-so-timid emotional vocals.

M.I.A. to release new single “Bad Girls”
First Santigold and now this! It looks like it’s gong to be a bass-tastic year. The queen of alternative rap is ready to release some new material from her fourth album! Conveniently ahead of her performance with Madonna at the Super Bowl, the track will be available to download on iTunes. M.I.A. was reported to be in the recording studio with Swizz Beatz, Polow Da Don, Cataracs, and Chris Brown in early 2011, hinting at new material for a possible fourth album. She posted a series of TwitPics in the middle of November 2011 revealing that she had recorded new songs in Chennai.
