Another track from Magic Hour surfaces. A lot has changed but their appreciation of Elton John’s oeuvre is very much alive in this track.

Alexandra takes part in some of the shows activities and also performs “Let It Go.”
When it comes to winning streaks in the iTunes age, nobody has done it like Flight Facilities. The Australian dance outfit has scored an underground hit once every year since their wonderful “Crave You” came out. Their second single was “Foreign Language,” which took us by storm and still didn’t let go. Now, they come back with a third single “With You” with no sight of an album. That’s how they do it in the mp3 era.
The new single “With You” speaks of an adulterous affair. While my friends are having a dispute on whether the pronouns point to a homosexual or heterosexual relationship, the message covers a topic not often-trodden. This is the new single with summer beats and a lively chorus that will leave you repeating it even when the song is not on. This is a truly remarkable track from a band that has not faltered yet.
Sleigh Bells premiere their music video “Demons” on Pitchfork.tv. Sleigh Bells offer a dark and dizzy live performance clip to accompany their Reign of Terror cut “Demons”. The band’s Derek Miller co-directs, with Gregory Kohn.
Rumer is feeding the sudden hike in her career with a cover album titled Boys Don’t Cry. This is the second single off of the album. The album has leaked but will officially be out on May 28th, 2012.
Kimbra got quirkier than we remember her. Maybe this comes with the fame she got from her collaboration with Gotye on the #1 track “Somebody That I Used To Know.” But, it’s still loved and appreciated.
We didn’t know Anggun was in Eurovision. She is representing France, not Indonesia.
Catcall is the brainchild of Sydney artist Catherine Kelleher, whose musical forays started in 2004 with no-wave/punk three-piece Kiosk. So while Catcall may be a fresh, new project, make no mistake, Catherine is a seasoned performer. The brat-noise, energetic shows and songs of Kiosk earnt the band friends and enemies, but never failed to ignite something. They toured the USA in 2006, recorded with Calvin Johnson at the Dub Narcotic Studios in Olympia and a played slew of support slots with diverse acts like Blood Brothers and The Gossip.
The jump from punk to the fuzz pop/rap confections Catherine cooks up now is not so quantum. Catcall retains the raw, powerful energy that drove Kiosk. Her first jams under the Catcall name appeared in 2007 and were lo-fi demos of badass bedroom beats infused with some sense of suburban longing. These early songs, available on MySpace quickly worked their way into willing ears, as her rhymes left a reverb, one that had toes tapping, but also gave you something to chew on, hers are lyrics about life, processed through with a thoughtfulness.
Here’s the new video for “We Might Be Dead By Tomorrow,” taken from Soko’s new album, I Thought I Was an Alien. Aside from sounding clinically depressed, this song is a beautiful lullaby. We didn’t know Soko was gay, or is this just for this video? Either way, we love!
