Legendary: “Doop” by Doop
Love it or hate it, this song was #1 on the UK charts in 1994. The track might not have real lyrics or a meaning at all, it was a great dance number at the time and is still infectious in melody. However, the band did not go on to do bigger and better things.

Air release more details on their album “Le Voyage Dans La Lune”
According to a press release, the album takes its inspiration from the classic 1902 silent film Le Voyage Dans La Lune (A Trip To The Moon) by Georges Méliès. A fully restored version of the film is currently playing at film festivals world-wide. Air composed an original score for this new film version of the film. A free 3-minute film excerpt featuring the song “Sonic Armada” was made available for one week in early December 2011 in conjunction with a pre-order offer. The digital version of the album along with the newly restored and colorized 16-minute film will be released as a strictly limited edition.

Video Premiere: “Sonic Armada (A Trip To The Moon)” by Air
Air always impress. This is a new gem from the forthcoming album of the same title, but in French. It’s an old to the classic film and a great visual to attach to their ethereal sound and moody melodies. Watch out for more from Air over her at Loft965.com all this January!

1Video Premiere: “Crazy Vibes” by Selah Sue
1Selah Sue’s debut album is growing quickly on us. In fact, we have been listening to it all day. This Belgian talent has tapped in to something good. This is the second single from the self-titled debut.
Video Premiere: “Comme Un Enfant” by YELLE
French pop kid YELLE is back with yet another track from her loud, yet eclectic album Safari Disco Club. This single bring the pink colors like no other and although we’d like to understand fully what she is singing about, it’s not bad at all.
Air announce new album “Le Voyage Dans La Lune”
2One of our favorite duos have announced a new album in the works. Not much news is out about it, but it’s tentatively called Le Voyage Dans La Lune, which means “A Trip To The Moon.” Yes, we love Google Translate. At any rate, the album is set to come out early 2012. La Voyage Dans La Lune is set to feature guest vocalists from Au Revoir Simone and Beach House’s Victoria Legrand.
Air’s Nicolas Godin remarked on the album saying,”‘A Trip to the Moon’ is undoubtedly more organic than most of our past projects. We wanted it to sound ‘handmade and knocked together’, a bit like Méliès’ special effects. Everything is played live and like Méliès’ film, our soundtrack is nourished by living art.”
Video Premiere: “Painted Love” by Air
1The uploader has made this video not available in my country because apparently they are so eager to break the Kuwaiti market when they get to it, or they just lump up everyone not from where they are or not a huge market for western music like the US and the UK. Nonetheless, we love the band, so we want to give the chance to some of our international readers to see it. Tell us how it goes.
Video Premiere: “I Though I Was An Alien” by SoKo
1It’s funny because we thought too. This is another song from SoKo’s new album. It’s within her aura of music, but its a little dreamier than “Shitty Day” or “I’ll Kill Her” and less quirky. She’s still “freaky” though.

1Must-Watch: Camille performs new song “Mars Is No Fun”
1This song has a great vibe to it. It sounds like it could be the audio for the next generations of iPods. Camille is back to her solo performances and its sounds great, even though her work with Nouvelle Vague is just as good. Her new album Ilo Veyou is out now in France only, but should get an international release soon, perhaps with an English title.
First Listen: “Le Bump” by Yolanda Be Cool featuring Crystal Waters
2The dance group that got you the highly infectious, yet absurdly-overplayed “We No Speak Americano” are back with another track that slightly missed the summer. To ensure its success, the band got dance-dive extraordinaire Crystal Waters to provide vocals on the track. Click below to listen to it.
