It’s the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, #fotw
It’s only been two decades since the jeers of the Berlin Wall falling occured targetting the reunification of modern-day Germany and causing a domino effect in the Eastern Bloc states from soviet shackles. It seems that 20 years is a lot of time for change. In it, Germany went from a fragmented country to a world power, again. This time more on an economic basis and less on military capabilities. And ever since, Eastern states like Poland and the Czech Republic rid themselves of oppression and misguided communism. At any rate, it’s a good to celebrate. A foundation has opted to write any tweet one precedes with “#fotw” on the wall. Ask for other walls to fall. Like the West Bank Barrier or other borders that limit and steal freedoms from people.

Lebanon fights Israel over hummus!

In an attempt to thwart Israel’s claiming of the hummus dish a bunch of Lebanese chefs and helpers gathered to make the world’s biggest hummus dish ever – breaking Israel’s record. AP explains: “Lebanese chefs react (above) after preparing a massive plate of hummus, seen in the middle, weighing more then 2,056 kilograms, during a bid to break a record previously held by Israel and reclaim ownership over the popular Middle Eastern dish, in Beirut, Lebanon, Saturday Oct. 24, 2009. The event is part of a simmering war between Lebanon and Israel over regional cuisine. Lebanese businessmen accuse Israel of stealing traditional Middle Eastern dishes, like hummus, and marketing them worldwide as Israeli products.”

2There is a reason why the White House thinks that Fox News is not a credible news channel. Because they rely on body language analysts more than they care about facts. They are bipartisan, partially, subjective and completely false at times. The conservatives have gone out of their minds and they will stop at nothing to prove the Obama administration wrong. They are not used to a presidency that is just and lenient. They want to see dead third world children to validate and comfort their existence. The truth is even with as little as this administration has accomplished in a year, it has been better that 8 years of the buffoon’s reign.
The Nation releases Sarah Palin look-alike book

November 17th that Sarah Palin’s autobiographical work Going Rogue: An American Life comes to shops. It’s also the day that the Nation release Going Rouge: An American Nightmare. Yes, the wicked liberals have come up with a book highlighting everything Sarah Palin doesn’t want you to know with a sleeve that looks the same but doesn’t feel the same (notice the lightning in the back). We hope some conservatives will get confused as some of them wouldn’t know the difference between “rouge” and “rogue” if they worked at a cosmetics counter.

All this name-calling and insult-flinging has gotten us thinking. Since when has an opinion been valid if it is not well-researched. This age of misinformation has made a way for all conservatives to turn any word into a curse word. Conservatives are willing to go the length and make Nazi comparisons with people without actually knowing that Nazism is closer to their turf than anyone else’s. Another term being branded as an insult is “socialist.” This coming from people who wouldn’t know Karl Marx from Richard Marx. Liberals have been too quiet for too long. The free-thinkers of the world, with their appreciation and respect for other people’s opinions, have let delinquents pave a way for their miseducation. A full-blown assault on progression has been launched as a result of this live-and-let-live mindset. It’s time to fight ignorance in full-force. If someone speaks about something you disagree with it’s time not to shrug and let it go by. Because this world is in dire need for progress in order to live. It’s time.

Jan Moir, a writer for the Mail in the UK, has taken it as her job to insult and ridicule Stephen Gately and his death as his family mourns his death. The writer (not very good might we add) has written an article about how conspicuous she thinks the death was. Saying some hateful stuff criticizing gay marriage, the validity of his autopsy and his lifestyle. It seems that some people bandwagon off of people’s misery to further their careers without consideration to his loved ones. We’d hate to give her a bunch of hits, but read the article and complain to The Mail about it.

From the conservative file, yet another bout of bigotry. An appointed judge named Keith Bardwell has refused to marry couple of different races. He explains “I’m not a racist. I just don’t believe in mixing the races that way.” Yet, people don’t claim a correlation between conservatism and prejudice. The truth of the matter is that something like this would not show up in a blue state. Plain and simple.

4Bill O’Reilly is at it again trying to swing it for his miseducated nuts and sounding like a little fool. Apparently, conservatives have just learned about World War II because they have been flinging around the words “Hitler” and “Fascism” a lot lately and very freely. It doesn’t deliver their message across better, it just makes them look more uneducated than ever. In fact, people who love Hitler predominantly vote republican, or are we wrong?
The real problem is that liberals are calm and reserved when it comes to argument and conservatives yell nonsense loud. This make their standpoint more affective. Richard Dawkins has it right when he says “stop shouting” and then the fool says “That’s just the way I speak.” Really? or is it the only way they know how to make a point with the absurd Neanderthal ways? Someone’s religious beliefs should not be imposed on everybody. Even if the majority believes in it. Period. The majority believed the earth was flat back then. Does it make it flat?

Let’s face it. The extreme right wing is more likely to be racist than anyone else. It’s a generalization, but we will make it. There is a correlation between racism and irrational patriotism. Had they not care about his race, the birther movement would not have been this huge of a movement. This people trying to impeach Obama on the basis of some lineage idea they have in their heads, when they are the same people who voted for John McCain who, in fact, was born in Panama.
Maldives government holds meeting underwater in protest

In protest of the threat of global warming, the Maldives government has held a cabinet meeting underwater. We have recently been there and we can see why they want to save this stretch of 1,200 islands that are, what looks like, paradise on earth. Maldives’ highest elevation doesn’t exceed the 2 meter mark. So, if there would be a slight rise in sea water levels, that would mean a wipe-out from the islands for the natives.

The UK’s Telegraph claims that the family converted to Islam after the dictator’s birth. “A close-up of the document reveals he was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver.” read the newspaper. The word around the twittersphere is that the most annoying twitterer in the world Tila Tequila has been choke and imprisoned by some jock of a football player named Shawne Merriman. I mean, at points I wanted to choke her for tweeting too much but it should never be beaten up. Especially by a Frankensteinish person, when she is the size of a bisexual gummy bear. Anyway, we hope she is OK and we want her back to annoying us every day all day. She should stop dating crazy boys. The choices on her show are always scary. Man or woman. Yes, this is re-appropriated gossip, now what!?
