Carly Simon has decided to make a video for her song “You’re So Vain” this year. The song was released back in 1972 and never got the video treatment. “Classic” channels would usually play live versions of the song in place of a video. “You’re So Vain” is arguably Caryl Simon’s biggest hit ever and the singer is looking to make some more cash out of it. Simon started a competition for fans to make a video for the song and to guess who this song is about. Well, all the Janet Jackson fans know that it’s about Mick Jagger, because when Simon’s track was sampled for Janet’s song “Son Of A Gun” Carly provided a little rap bit that made it obvious.

Premiere: Video: “Don’t Tell Me That It’s Over” by Amy MacDonald
We were so excited to this, but, now that we’ve heard it it’s quite a departure from the Amy MacDonald we got to know from her debut album. Yet, this could just be the first single that is supposed to get attention for the project. They other tracks on the album might be up to par. Her new album A Curious Thing comes out March 8, 2010. Let’s hope she doesn’t fade into Sandi Thom oblivion.

1Video: “Hard To Get” by Florence Rawlings
Impressive new single from young-in Florence Rawlings who is set to continue the musical sound of Amy Winehouse and Duffy. This is from her album A Fool In Love. Click here for more.
Video: “Radio On (Josh Harris Remix)” by Heather Small
New remixes are surfacing on YouTube of this flop of a single from former M People frontwoman and one of the greatest voices to grace the industry. It’s called “Radio On” and it’s from her last album that was released in 2006 Close To A Miracle.
Premiere: Video: “On A Mission” by Gabriella Cilmi
1Just when we announced the return, the video for the first single is out. You can see how’s it’s a departure from the sound that launched her and a new direction in her visual sphere. It sounds like something Girls Aloud would do. We have to say she is looking good.
Gabriella Cilmi makes comeback with “On A Mission”
Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi is back, even when she didn’t leave, really. She’s 18 now and the promo pictures for her new album make sure you know it. She’s working with Xenomania (Sugababes) and Greg Kurstin (Kylie Minogue) on her sophomore album. The direction of the album is less rock and more dance. Click below to hear a sample.
Sneak Peak at Jacksons: A Family Dynasty reality show
This show was supposedly being readied before Michael Jackson’s death, which is weird that the logo has a five in it (“Jack5ons”) to emphasize the Michael factor. At any rate, Jermaine is the only Jackson sybling we don’t really like. And this whole vehicle is being spun around him. This is the same brother that sold his story to make a TV movie about his brother and the one who originally broke up the Jackson 5. But, Tito’s always fun. So, we’ll watch in hopes of some Rebbie or LaToya or maybe even some Janet, which is unlikely.
New video for Mariah Carey’s “H.A.T.E.U.” is here!
4Mariah Carey’s third single from Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel is here. The music video was shot on November 4th and 6th 2009, and was directed by Mariah’s friend Brett Ratner who previously directed music videos for “Obsessed”, “Touch My Body”, “We Belong Together” and “It’s Like That.” The video was shot on Malibu Beach, in California. The video will premiere on the night of December 8, 2009, on VEVO, which is tonight. If you get the Vevo blog that means it’s not up yet. They are trying to launch big with Mariah’s video. Meanwhile, you can watch a video of Adam Lambert throwing a TV out of his hotel room. Fun.

Premiere: Video: “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” by Alicia Keys
3Everyone’s a-buzzing about the Beyonce and Lady Gaga collaboration on “Video Phone” today. But what we are looking forward to is this. One of the best songs of the year gets a video. It’s not that fab but Alicia is looking great. The song carries it well. When you have a big love song like this, it’s hard to come up with a great concept without taking the Chris Isaac route. The special here affects were unnecessary and they look kind of unprofessional, very 2012. We can’t wait until The Element Of Freedom comes out.
Premiere: Video: “Shame On You” by Aya
1It’s not the same Aya that we’ve grown to love with her breezy beats and lounge aura, but it’s a new jazzy Aya fro South Africa. She just released her debut album A State Of Aya and it’s sounding good right about now. South Africa seems to have a great niche for jazzy wander. We’ll keep an eye out for her.

Did Miley Cyrus have a case of swine flu?
5
Apparently, news around the blogosphere is that back when Miley Cyrus ran off stage because she felt sick it wasn’t just any other flu. It was allegedly the dreaded H1N1 “swine” flu. Yes, everyone’s favorite tween idol suffered from the one scary disease. This wasn’t formerly tweeted by her and it wasn’t from her rep or pa. It was announced by a co-star.
Update: The Miley Cyrus camp just confirmed that her illness was not H1N1, but a case of strep throat.
Premiere: Video: “Water And A Flame” by Daniel Merriweather featuring Adele
You might have to click out for this one as embedding is disabled (the stupidest feature since underwater headphones). But this is the new single and it features the lovely Adele on backing vocals, but she is not in the video. Not too sure how well this is doing, but something tells us that his second album will be make or break.

Is Mariah Carey pregnant?
2
There has been a lot speculation about Mariah Carey’s pregnancy. Ever since she got married and then refused to have a glass of champagne on The Ellen Show. But, these days, Mariah Carey herself has been talking about having babies a lot. A news article from FameCrawler explains: “
Now at least one source is confirming it. MediaTakeOutclaims to have “official confirmation” from an inside source close to Mariah that says the popstar and her husband, Nick Cannon, are expecting their first child together. OK, if that isn’t confirm-y enough for you, I also heard the news from my manicurist’s sister-in-law’s nanny. Truth!
The couple have reportedly been trying for nearly a year to have a child, but don’t expect them to make an official announcement just yet. According to the insider, “Mariah is superstitious, and she doesn’t want to talk about the pregnancy until she’s a lot further along.”
