Good job rhyming “gone” with “Milan.” The whole champagne dreams theme is redundant, but it’s always to get a visual from Amanda Lepore. Not a great song, just sheer exhibitionism.

Amanda Blank releases “I Love You”
Amanda Blank, one of the best new acts of 2009, has released her debut album I Love You. Although we thought it’s going to have more of a street edge and an urban sophistication, it actually verges on Peaches territory and is heavy on electronic beats even if some of the lyrics sound like raps. Unfortunately, the best track on there is “Might Like You Better.” Other than that, it’s an OK record.

Amanda Blank is the new kid on the block. Other than the fact that her beats are lush with attitude that she is ushering in a whole bunch of comparisons with M.I.A., Santogold, Peaches and Gwen Stefani, she also happens to rap and write some snazzy lyrics with mean drop-beats. Her album comes out this month and it’s titled I Love You. And the synth-glam anthem “Might Like You Better” is making the rounds around the internet. Must-Watch: Video: “Cotton Candy” by Amanda LePore
Her own perfume is out now and this song is the promo for it. The song’s catchy, but not quiet “Champagne.” I don’t know if this is going to be a one-off like her previous singles or a cut from an album.
