News just in that Whitney Houston has passed away. After pictures of her having a “wild night” surfaced, the diva was reported to be dead. Extremely sad. Whitney Houston is one of the most important pop figures of our time. More news to come once it surfaces. We will keep you posted!
People.com reports that the Grammy winner was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. Saturday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. “We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills Fire and police responded minutes later,” the story quotes Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen as saying. “It’s unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel. We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail.”

UPDATE: It is just a rumor. Mandela has just been released from the hospital and is recovering.

Cheryl Cole’s malaria worsening!
According to English newspapers, Cheryl Cole has allegedly been moved to a specialized hospital for the treatment of malaria that she has, also allegedly, contracted while on vacation in Tanzania. When we were in Madagascar we were told that if the symptoms did not subside after 1 day of treatment then the vital organs are in big trouble, which, as bad as it sounds, would mean that Cheryl Cole’s second album that was supposed to be released sometime is August will be postponed. Sad news for the pop world, both on the charts and on the popstrel’s life. Anyway, click here for more about the situation.

Emmy-winning actress Rue McClanahan has died at the age of 76. Her manager Barbara Lawrence said McClanahan died Thursday at 1 a.m. of a massive stroke. McClanahan is knows for her role as the sexually liberated Southern belle Blanche Devereaux on the popular ’80s sitcom Golden Girls.
Dennis Hopper dies at the age of 74
It has been confirmed that the actor Dennis Hopper has died at the age of 74. The cause of death is reported as being from complications with prostate cancer. Hopper directed and starred in the acclaimed film Easy Rider back, and he is known for his roles in films such as Blue Velvet, Apocalypse Now and Speed. So sad.

“According to The Sun, Britney Spears is interested in having her body preserved by liquid nitrogen upon her death and be brought back to life if advancements make it possible. “Brit gets these obsessions and this is the latest,” a friend of the pop star told the British tabloid. “It started when someone told her Walt Disney had been preserved by cryogenics to be revived in the future. “At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an “unspecified medical aid request,” according to spokesman Brian Humphrey. Fire Department personnel provided medical services to Monjack, and he was pronounced dead, according to a Los Angeles police sergeant, who declined to give his name, at the Hollywood Station late Sunday night. The sergeant said detectives were arriving at the home.
