Messy little tune from wannabe X-Factor reject. Novelty, to say the least.

Finnish show does Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”
1John Mayer on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine
John Mayer’s been doing some charity work for Haiti on CNN recently, but he is also promoting his latest album Battle Studies. This cover pose is basically a marketing campaign to make Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Love-Hewitt jealous. It shows John Mayer as the sex symbol that he is minus the sour face he makes when he grimace-sings.
John Mayer’s “Battle Studies” has leaked!
23John Mayer’s muchly-awaited new album has been leaked. Yes, the entire Battle Studies album. It’s his fourth album and it was supposed to be out on November 17th. He said about it: “The album is called Battle Studies and that’s because it incorporates a lot of the lessons, a lot of the observations, and a little bit of advice. Like a handbook, like a heartbreak handbook.”
John Mayer unveils official cover and track listing for “Battle Studies”
2That’s a nice cover. The typeface fits well, too. He’s looking prettier with age. And gayer, apparently. At any rate, his new song is beautiful and we have a feeling that this will be a big one for John Mayer. Continuum, his last, was his best effort and he seems to be on a progress streak. Battle studies contains a track featuring Taylor Swift and a cover of a late blues musician Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads.” Click below for the track list.
The album wars: Mariah Carey vs. Whitney Houston
20As I have explained before, for a Mariah Carey album to get push for earlier release is quiet rare. In fact, it has never happened before in the artist’s history. When all anticipation was directed at the last quarter of the year for the album to drop. Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel got a very early August 25th date with the single being rushed to radio now. Many speculated that that was due to Mariah wanting to qualify for this year’s award season.
But, now I think that we have the real reason. Mariah’s album, being a sure-fire number one debut, decided not to overshadow her long-time pal Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston’s tentatively titled either Undefeated or I Didn’t Know My Own Strength, which is also the titled of the first single, will drop officially a week after Mariah’s album on September 1st.
