Lady GaGa readies up “Fame Monster”

ladygagathefamemonster

As with every skyrocketing release, record companies are bound to feature a “deluxe version.” Lady GaGa is no exception. She is readying up her deluxe of The Fame titled The Fame Monster. This collection will include all the hits that you know and love from Lady Gaga including a bunch more. Her next single “Bad Romance” will be on it and a bunch of fan art, poetry and whatever else the record company can get for free.

Madonna’s “It’s So Cool” isn’t…

Listen, we don’t care how much you think Madonna is great, but this track is probably one of the worst pop tunes by a pop giant ever. It’s so bad, “Revolver” would look great next to it. “It’s So Cool” is a bonus track available for those who pre-purchase Celebration on iTunes (Another marketing ploy of hers to lure in buyers to her recycled material). And, frankly, it’s crapola. If you like it you are blinded by the blonde ambition!

Paloma Faith graces the stage, impresses the world

Wow. This is the first time I notice her voice. She really has a lot going for her. This song is a gem and the two others I’ve heard from Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful? are all good. It must’ve been a fun show.

Is Eminem dead?

Powell_Eminem

There’s a rumor circulating around twitter and the blogosphere about Eminem dying in a car crash today. It’s getting so much attention that it’s one of the most searched phrases today. So, in a manner of speaking out, we have to put in our two cents. Also, we have heard the rumor and got real excited that karma actually works. But, the truth is we never address Eminem here because we don’t like prejudice and bigotry. So, if he is really deceased now this would be one of the few cases where we don’t mourn. He advocated the killing of a women. He promotes violence against women, gays and lesbians. He hates everyone, including black women, and then brands himself a pioneer in rap. He is just an all-around nasty person. Even if he slams some great rap, how can one like the content if it is that hateful?

Noah has given Loft965.com a shout-out on his twitter account. We were really hyped about his album Human Geometry and his single “Mannequin” stayed at #1 for 3 weeks on our chart, which is the longest hold on the top spot as of now. We hope to see a video real soon for it because it deserves one. Here it is:

Music For July: SummerUp

SUMMERUP

The time has come once again. July’s offering is a ballast of pop and dance. It’s one of the most care-free, fun and up compilations I have made in a while. All kinds of mainstream pop, chart dance, geek electro and a bunch of infectious catch phrases from RuPaul’s Drag Race. The theme is summery and beachy. Nothing too heavy here and nothing lowtempo. When I put it together, I had in mind my party friends who keep goading me to stray away from the “hipster shit” or “alterna-crap.” So, this one’s for them. Join the facebook group Nasser’s Mix Galore for it. Click below for the full playlist:

Exclusive: Music For May: MORganic

n99616299128_1695 I am not going to go on again about pimping out my compilations but dare I say that I have compiled another stone winner that I personally can not stop listening to. There are a lot of organic influences: my love of everything Scandinavian, my road trip through England, folk musings, a rising fascination with jazz standards and the prospect of love. Cheesy, maybe! Bad? No way!

Video: “Maybe California” by Tori Amos

2

Can I just exclaim how excited  I am about this release of Tori Amos’s new album Abnormally Attracted To Sin? I am literally counting the weeks. This is going to be special because I will have a physical hold of the LP the day I embark on an American road trip. It couldn’t have come at a better time. This is a second visualette released from the album. It sounds like the same old Tori, which is perfect. Simmering down.

Melody Thornton reveals Pussycat Dolls fight at concert

23

There have been numerous speculations about an internal Pussycat Dolls fight for a while now. Ever since Nicole Scherzinger opted to leave the group prematurely only to see her solo career suffer blow after blow. Add that to mediocre album sales and a sophomore slump that even a deluxe addition can’t rescue.

Now, Melody Thornton, the one with the voice and a whole lotta presence, has made it loud and clear that Nicole has overstepped her bounds. Watch the video at 0:28 secs when Melody says “Thank you for supporting me even though I am not featured.” Right in front of spotlight-hogging Nicole and the red headed doll agrees. Pheonix didn’t know that was coming.

Beverley Knight goes independent

No word on whether she left at her own accord or if she was dropped. Something tells me it’s the latter, because Music City Soul didn’t do so well, even if it was a scrumptious album. In any case, she is back with her very own Hurricane Records. She’s working with the Rurals, Guy Chambers and the one and only Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, so there should be some gems on there. If you sign up on her website you can get a demo of a song titled “Money Back.” Whatever she has to offer, I am sure it is going to be up to par. From the sound of it “Money Back” is a return to a more contemporary beat like Who I Am but with a grown-up laid-back soul saunter.
