Disco brought us many great songs and this is one of them. Patrice Rushen might be a one hit wonder, but she hit it hard. This is a beautiful booty-groove with some cute vocals. It was later popularized and sampled by Will Smith’s now-horrid “Men In Black.”

BEP are back even though their last album was titled The E.N.D., which also stands for “Energy Never Dies.” This is the first single off of the album The Beginning. We haven’t heard it yet, but we are getting it off of iTunes now as we speak. Will keep you posted.

Legendary: “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles

Who would have known that a Canadian singer belting one out about Mississippi blues would sound so grandiose. This larger than life rock number is so telling of the times it came out and still sounds as good as ever. Just one of those tracks that always rocks your world. Too bad it was her only mainstream hit.
