We know its frustrating for artists like Solange who get less than what they deserve, but its no excuse to say that Rihanna stole ideas from her. She a way better artist than Rihanna and we all know that Rihanna really stole from MIA. But, that’s another story. Click here to read the gist.
Do we like this song? We can’t decide.
Just when we posted the still from the video, it comes out. It wasn’t what we expected and she is stepping a little too close for our comfort into M.I.A. territory. “Rude Boy” is the next single of off her album Rated R.
The BBC are working of a 90-minute drama that will chronicle Boy George’s life. Here the gist: “Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne is to star in a BBC Two drama about former Culture Club singer Boy George. The 90-minute drama will focus on how the star went from a cloakroom attendant to a cultural icon. Horne will play Jon Moss, the band’s drummer, who famously had a relationship with Boy George – real name George O’Dowd. The BBC said Worried About The Boy reflects on an “iconic” star and “the cultural era he is synonymous with”. Marc Warren, best known for Hustle, and Mark Gatiss, from The League Of Gentlemen, will also appear alongside newcomer Douglas Booth, who has landed the role of the pop star himself.”
She’s really taking that nude tomboy look to its extreme. She is working the covers with hotness and much-appreciated sluttiness. We didn’t hear the song, mainly because the album is so shiteous. We have it one our iTunes here at Loft965.com headquarters (my Beirut bed), so we might just give it a spin. Lovely sleeve, though.
Chaining Norwegian rent boys to walls aside, Boy George is a pretty good musician. Whether he is with his band The Culture Club or solo, he’s always managed to churn up some good quality tunes like “The Crying Game,” “Karma Chameleon” and “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?” We also loved his album U Can Never B2 Straight with the Spanish-tinted song “She Was Never He.” Anyway, he’s back now to full glam dance with this collaboration with fado singer Ana Lains.
Don’t even act like you wouldn’t have the same reaction.
She became popular because her single “Silly Boy” was pushed around the blogosphere as the new Lady Gaga and Rihanna collaboration directed at Chris Brown, even if there was one vocalist on the track. Then the video came out and everyone knew the song but not the singer. It’s Eva Simons. She won some dutch reality show and now she wants to get some of the GaGa-ness. It’s a weak track. The look is emulated-fabulousness. She might make some waves but she needs a stronger single.
