Video Premiere: “The Right Thing” by Moby

It seems that Moby is still on his Destroyed promotional binge. As we are huge fans of every other album Moby releases. We never got into the new one fully. We loved Wait For Me though. Still, his work is always up to par. Let’s hope he releases a disco album next. Or one that takes inspiration from disco.

Leona Lewis postpones album until 2012!

2

Allegedly, Leona Lewis has tweeted that she is very inspired these days and will put her album on hold to add things on it. She apparently wants to make it perfect and, as a result, fans will not get to see some new material until next year. We weren’t big fans of “Collide,” but we are not the biggest fans of Leona Lewis either. Still, she has the chops for a great track.

Don’t Quote Me, Vol. 555

[When asked: "Are you going to turn into a diva?"] “I’m probably already one, if that means that you don’t give a fuck about people’s opinions. I don’t suffer fools gladly. I’m not here to make friends. I’ve learnt that the hard way – I used to not say things like ‘I really want to hold a guitar in my video,’ because I was trying to make everyone like me. But I don’t give a fuck now. At the end of the day I’m there to do my job, I’m not there to have picnics. So, if that’s being a diva then yeah, I will be one. “

- Amy Winehouse

Video Premiere: “I Took A Little Something” by Florrie

1

Florrie is not about to give up with this new EP that insinuates everything about drug consumption, but doesn’t quite touch that line. Experimenting is probably her last attempt at some hipster-love. This is another refreshing summer track from the disc.

Monica to release new album titled “New Life”

3

Monica is ready to bask in the glory of Still Standing further but releasing another album this year tentatively titled New Life. The Grammy-nominated singer has worked with Missy Elliott and Polow for the new album. She explained: “My family and I are doing some really fun things this summer. My husband and I have been experiencing some really great things. We’ve only been married 6 months. Having someone to share everything with has been so much fun and so refreshing and so uplifting for me. Sometimes, being in the music industry for as long as I have can feel like the weight of the world. It’s lifted so much off me to have someone to genuinely love.”

Free Download: “Ice” and “No One Can Touch Us Tonight” by jj

1

The Swedish mellow duo that give indie music a great name have decided that their last offer Kills (a mixtape of covers of rap classics) is not enough, therefore they are willing to bestow on us some new material that will leave you yearning for a sexy winter. Their new album jj n° is set to drop this year. Here are some free tracks.

Again: Music For May: Xylemony

6

In true May compilation fashion, we have opted for a more organic, laid-back folk-tinged feel on this one. This ones for the rest before the summer hoopla. It’s the kind of music we like to listen to on our in days. There undiscovered gems in there, oldies and some tracks that will knock you off your feet, lofties. This is 100% percent organic. Xylemony comes from the merger of “Xylem” and “Testimony” with context to personal growth and self-nurture, in case you didn’t know.

First Listen: “Let’s Get Back Together” by Matti Roots

1

This brand of happy soul is one of the most underrated genres of our time. Only a few have managed to capture it, but then were warded off to obscurity, like Nikka Costa and Remy Shand. But, it is alive in all those struggling artists who are not afraid to incorporate “pretty” into thier melodies. Such is the case with Matti Roots.

Joss Stone debuts new single “Back In Style”

2

We have to say that even though we didn’t like her late album Colour Me Free, we are awaiting her new independent return. She had a lot of trouble with her record label and now she is free and started the aptly titled Stone’d Records. Her new album is called LP1 and it’s set to drop this year. Click below for the track “Back In Style.”

Sexy Track: “Judas” by Lady Gaga

1

Although we loved the message of “Born This Way,” we weren’t playing it loud and singing along to it. It feels somewhat contrived and Gaga know whatever she releases for her first single will be a hit. But, we feel like the real first single to the album, Born This Way, was this track. “Judas” has enough mojo to infect every summer dance floor from Ibiza to Mykonos to Ayia Napa. The chorus is robust and the sound is as fresh as just-squeezed orange juice. It will make you want to go up, and, of course, who doesn’t love a little bit of controversy?

Inside the studio with Florence & The Machine

3

Everyone’s favorite British act from 2010 have gone back to do the sophomore and to do it good. Florence Welch knows she has to master this one if she wants to be a formidable act in the business, so we don’t expect it any time soon as much as we want a new release from the act.

Mýa’s album “K.I.S.S.” has leaked!

1

Mya‘s sixth studio album K.I.S.S., which is an acronym for Keep It Sexy & Simple, has leaked all over the internet. We got her last album Sugar & Spice, but weren’t big fans of it apart from the lead single. This time around Mya’s pushing the sexy even further by the great sleeve we see here. We’re going to give a stream listen and then tell you how we feel.
