Everyone’s favorite British act from 2010 have gone back to do the sophomore and to do it good. Florence Welch knows she has to master this one if she wants to be a formidable act in the business, so we don’t expect it any time soon as much as we want a new release from the act.

Mýa’s album “K.I.S.S.” has leaked!
1
Mya‘s sixth studio album K.I.S.S., which is an acronym for Keep It Sexy & Simple, has leaked all over the internet. We got her last album Sugar & Spice, but weren’t big fans of it apart from the lead single. This time around Mya’s pushing the sexy even further by the great sleeve we see here. We’re going to give a stream listen and then tell you how we feel.
First Listen: “So In Love” by Jill Scott featuring Anthony Hamilton
6There is only one J-I-L-L-S-C-O-T-T represeting love out there. She’s back and, girl, do we miss her badly. Her soulful sultriness is just what is needed right about now. Lovely new track from the fourth full-length album Light Of The Sun. Can’t wait!

1Rihanna covers Rolling Stone magazine!
1Rihanna to release “California King Bed” as new single!
9Rihanna is continuing her winning streak with the LOUD album with a new single. This time around she and her record label picked “California King Bed” as the track to video and release. We would have picked “Man Down” and then “Complicated,” but this track is not bad at all. We are sure it will do well. Also, looking at the above picture, we didn’t know Rihanna had an Arabic tattoo. We can’t figure out what the third word is, but it is along the lines of “Freedom is… something.” Can you figure it out? Do we need glasses?
Lykke Li performs “Get Some” on Conan
3Okay, we have to say that this song is growing on us very fast.
Video Premiere: “Killer Bee” by Anouk
1Official cover art of Nicole Scherzinger debut “Killer Love”
1Everything she has done for her solo career, from the singles to the appearances to this artwork, has bored us. Just blah.
Duffy is quitting the music business!
1Allegedly, British soulstress Duffy is unhappy with the music industry and would rather have a country life with her boyfriend to start a family. Some sources say that she is very unhappy with the public reception of Endlessly and is giving up on music all together. Let’s hope that’s not true. Just when we started liking her!
Sam Sparro seals sophomore slated for as soon as summer!
2Sam Sparro has put the finishing touches on his second album, which will feature the free track he offered on his website. Apparently “Pink Cloud” is not a single and only a teaser of his current direction. So the first single’s supposed to come out anytime soon. The album has no title as of yet, but will be here around summer or even sooner. Do you like the alliteration in the title?

1Exclusive: Ani DiFranco to release album in Spring 2011!
If you are growing impatient with the pace of the recent Ani DiFranco releases because you are used to her prolific demeanor, your wait is almost over. We have contacted Righteous Babe Records to ask them about Ani DiFranco’s forthcoming album and got a prompt reply that it is being readied up for a Spring release, that is earlier than we expected. We are very excited about this piece of news and look forward to her album.
Again: Music For Winter: Laxicover II
6Due to popular demand, Laxicover has gotten a sequel. Yes, the most downloaded compilation was supposed to be one-off but it’s back for another run. Are you ready for some smooth laying beats? Perhaps a chunk of bossa nova? Well, Laxicover II is probably the only compilation that you will enjoy thoroughly and know all the lyrics to at the same time. We went for an even softer sound this time and we can’t stop listening to it. Also, we incorporated more hairy legs for you this time. Enjoy it as you did the last one and, as always, feedback (or a thank you) is great.
Video Premiere: “The Spirit Was Gone” by Antony & The Johnsons
Antony & The Johnsons’ new offering hasn’t been downloaded by us as of yet, but it’s coming soon and we will give it a spin or two before it gets us in a depressed rut. But, for what it’s worth this track is dreary enough to reinstate our beliefs that the band has mastered the art of suicidal glum.
Video Premiere: “On The Lam” by Kele Okereke
Jamiroquai perform new song live!
1Just when we asked for an Acid Jazz revival, Jamiroquai debut this song from the album of the same title that sound rockier than usual. It’s not our cup of tea and we hope it’s not the first single.
Rihanna releases official cover art for her album “LOUD”
1The sleeve artwork for Rihanna’s new album LOUD has arrived and it seem like it is from the same session as the one for “The Only Girl (In The World).” It’s more laid back than Rated R and, judging from the first single, has the potential to sound better. The title alludes to it being a screamer, but that can go either way. Let’s hope the rest is as good as the first single.
Video Preview: “Perfect Nightmare” by Shontelle
Shontelle is hitting too close to Beyonce on this one, but it has some good qualities.
