November 17th that Sarah Palin’s autobiographical work Going Rogue: An American Life comes to shops. It’s also the day that the Nation release Going Rouge: An American Nightmare. Yes, the wicked liberals have come up with a book highlighting everything Sarah Palin doesn’t want you to know with a sleeve that looks the same but doesn’t feel the same (notice the lightning in the back). We hope some conservatives will get confused as some of them wouldn’t know the difference between “rouge” and “rogue” if they worked at a cosmetics counter.

Disney just bought Marvel Comics

marvel4

Call it an advent of the recession or the formation of another evil conglomerate, but I can’t help but think what would come out of this merger. The characters meeting each other. Animations like no other. And maybe a Marvel World or a EuroMarvel. Yes, Disney has purchased Marvel and that may homogenize the comic /anime world even further. But, let’s give it some time.

Tom Ford just hired himself again to be the spokesperson and model for her newest cologne Grey Vetiver. He’s flawless, but it’d be nice if he hired someone new, like Ongina maybe? Anyway, his colognes and perfumes are always up to par. So, we only expect the best from this. He describes the fragrance as “the equivalent of the classic blue blazer, the beautiful watch, or the cap-toes shoe.”

Britney Spears sells herself on facebook

1

picture-170

With the recession in full affect and CD sales on a fast plummet, stars have taken to other mediums to market themselves and make a little money on the way. Britney Spears has taken a new route: selling little icons of hers on Facebook gifts. One is free and 5 are not. That way, all her fans can give her 5 dollars each. That’s some mad money, if you ask me. Not to mention the double or triple buys from friends. It’s an interesting way to market an artist while making money. Still, one can just cut and paste the image really.

Dubai Sheikh wanted to buy Slumdog actress

The father of the the little girl who played the main character’s love interest in Slumdog Millionaire has tried to sell her for 200,000 British pounds to, what the tabloids are alleging now, a so-called “Dubai Sheikh.” No names have surfaced yet and the father has been arrested. There are claims of a video tape arising about that meeting. I just can’t believe that there were two adults that would actually go along in these negotiations to buy a child. And it had to be someone from this part of the world to have no value to human life, or a women’s life, where it come to the actuality that a human life is for purchase, a la the slave trade years. What a shame! I hope the name comes out for all to know. Good thing the actress’s mother informed authorities in time.

Thom Yorke quirky, Lily Allen unimpressed…

Lily Allen always has something to say. In Rainbows was a breakthrough project, and Radiohead were not trying to set precedents for other artists, they were just fighting the machine that fattened them for years only to dig their teeth in. The artist should pick the price on their music, not the record companies’ agreed fixed rate.

It’s 1993 all over again: Blur reunite…

1

blwIt’s been a great years for reunions, from Take That’s success to Blur reuniting for 2009. I have always liked them and I am currently listening to “Parklife” non-stop. The band has a concert date for 2009 that sold out in 2 minutes! I hope an album comes with it.
