Loft965 Exclusive: RuPaul unexpectedly releases remix album “Drag Race”

24 03 2010

RuPaul is super busy promoting the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and her book Workin’ It. But, that hasn’t stopped her from releasing an album this year. Unexpectedly and suddenly, with no promotion, RuPaul has released a remix CD titled Drag Race that remixes the best of her previous album Champion. The album is not listed on Amazon, 7digital, Wikipedia and there is not a single search engine that pops up with news about this. There was just a tiny little tweet that went by and left from RuPaul. So, this is the first announcement of it. Check it out on iTunes. Meanwhile, aren’t you just addicted to the show?

Adam Lambert messes up performance on Japanese TV

21 03 2010

The shoes aren’t working at all, but the look’s banging even as it verges on goth a little. We want the bald dancer’s top for the summer so bad.

Trailer for Madonna’s live DVD

Official cover for Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet”

13 01 2010

Another year, another blaze Madonna release. This is the artwork for the Sticky & Sweet disc. We can’t believe she is still sticking with that horrid typeface and the skew. Plus, she had to be on a screen to appear like she wasn’t retouched. When was the last time we saw Madonna’s current face all up on a sleeve?

P!nk to release live CD/DVD of Funhouse Tour

14 10 2009

funhouse tour live in australia

Pink’s extensive tour for Funhouse (mainly in her prime markets – Australia and Germany) has gone on for a long time. P!nk is a vigorous tourer, for a lack of a better word. This CD/DVD is supposed to highlight the best of the tour. Expect a whole lot of hanging from ceilings and some acrobatics.

Mariah Carey’s new album has leaked!

memoirs-490x490

Oh, this is a very good day for us. Just before we decided to leave, we found out that Mariah’s album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel has leaked in it’s entirety, in full quality.  Yes, the day is here. It’s nice out, too. The album’s supposed to land next week. Mariah releases rarely leak. But, I guess someone got a hold of it.  We pre-ordered many copies of it (it’s a ritual we do every time this happens) but we are still happy to get it.

Originally thought it was this one. But, it turns out Ellipse is getting a different cover. I heard some of the tracks from her YouTube previews and it sounds like the same stuff but with different lyrics. RIP MJ.

Must-Watch: Video: “Fuck You” by Lily Allen

21 06 2009

Great song and great fun of a video. It’s inspired by the iPhone, apparently. Although the song is about George Bush, it still works for everything that makes one angry. The picture in the polaroid is the same as her picture on Twitter. The next single was slated to be “22″ but this is replacing it now. I didn’t think they’d release it because it wont get played on radio. Maybe radio is not that important anymore.

Björk’s four CD-set commemorating the greatness of her most recent album, or whatever it is, is out now. It contains one live CD, one live DVD, one DVD of all the music videos from Volta and a remix CD. Voltaic is yet another on of those packages that don’t really offer anything new but the packaging is fabulous.

Music For March: Moodulation

25 02 2009

moodulation1

This is the compilation I shelved for a poppier and more uppity February. Si, it makes its debut in March and as much as my collection is overflowing with new sexy pop tracks for March. I managed to stick to my older mantra and that is to serve up some palatable chill music. This compilation is moody, yet sultry. I can honestly say that it is one of the best i had ever made and i have been doing this for quite a while now. It is something I would listen to. Actually, it was originally titled “Red Red Wine Playlist” and then I liked it so much it became Moodulation (a combination of the words “Mood” and “Modulation”). I hope you like it as much as I do. The tracklisting will be posted soon.

Music for February: Synthosium

1 02 2009

synthosiumThis time around, I opted for the different route. I shed some pop pride and got with the experimentalists. This is the driest of my compilations, not in a bad sense. More like sun-dried. Initially, I did a very moody chillout compilation and then I decided to shelf it (perhaps for March). After being unsure about it (and a little advice from friends), I decided to make February up and rocky. There’s a huge element of electro-clash, some folktronica and an on-going, but not singular theme of everything synth. Whether it was synthpop or some twangs of freakbeat. This compilation is not for everybody, especially those used to a pop template, but it is surely a grower, at least for me. It’s a great get-up-and-go kind of compilation. I hope you like and, of course, feedback’s always welcome.

Mariah sings “Hero” for Obama

22 01 2009

And it just happens to be the selling ticket for her Ballads compilation, which contains “How Much” with Usher, which is uptempo. Anyway, she’s back in the studio.

Kylie’s X Tour is out on DVD…

17 12 2008

51rtncezwgl_ss500_I just ordered it and I can’t wait for it.  I went and watched her live, but this one has all the segments and I am sure it has sexy bonus features.

Pop vending machines by sony…

31 10 2008

Sony is releasing these vending machines that will have DVDs, CDs, USBs and pretty much everything that has been acronymized. This is set to hit the UK this winter and I wonder what kind of stuff they will stock. I feel like its all going to be like Snakes On Planes DVDs and Coldplay CDs. Anyway, its an exciting feature.

Elephants… Teeth Sinking Into Heart

8 10 2008

Racheal Yamagata’s second album is out today and filled with all kinds of melodramatic acoustic, but without forgetting the some ruckus rock. So far, so good. But, I need more time to listen to it. It’s a double CD. So, there lots to waft through.
