Stars sing R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts” for Haiti

2

We were wondering why Mariah Carey didn’t do anything for Haiti as she is a very charitable person if we may say so ourselves. This is a remake of R.E.M.’s classic “Everybody Hurts.” The line-up includes Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis, Gary Barlow, Cheryl Cole, Robbie Williams, MIKA, Rod Stewart, Miley Cyrus, James Morrison, Jon Bon Jovi and Susan Boyle.

Secular donations for Haiti

1

We wanted to post this earlier, but we were looking for secular charities to post so we had to do some looking around. The catastrophe that the island of Hispaniola has suffered it’s not a small one and the great tragedy has not passed, people need relief and aid at this time in order to survive or the country will delve into a civil war or massive unrest. At any rate, we went ahead a compiled a list of secular charities that might help out without discriminating.

Donate through:

  1. MADRE
  2. Doctors Without Borders
  3. Partners In Health
  4. Humanist Charities
  5. International Relief Teams

Video: “All You Need Is Love” by Various Artists

This one slipped under the radar, mainly because of the fact that you need star power for it to be full-on. The only people we care for are Heather Small from M People, whom we dearly miss, Paloma Faith, one quarter of The Corrs and, did we see Katie Melua in there somewhere?

Lady GaGa and Cyndi Lauper pose for MAC cosmetics

3

Legend Cyndi Lauper and upcoming legendary child Lady GaGa have posed together for MAC cosmetics surgery (above). We love both but we can’t help but think that the money to hire the re-toucher could have been spared for charity. GaGa actually looks aesthetically good. That doesn’t happen much. But, we still love her.

Get liberal and get rich

Ideas are pouring in to fix this global economic crisis. From legalizing marijuana to decriminalizing prostitution to revisiting Karl Marx’s theories to legalizing gay marriage to salary ceilings to supporting worker unions  to being eco-friendly and now: the supposedly new and great idea of battling corruption

It’s amazing how all these great liberal ideas have been floating around for centuries and they only get attention when people feel the pinch of the penny. People get liberal when they need the money, is that how it goes?
