Margaret Cho enlists Fiona Apple, Ani DiFranco for comedy album

Margaret Cho is going to release her first music comedy album ever and she is bringing out the big guns to assist her. Acts including touring buddy Ani DiFranco, Fiona Apple, Tegan & Sara, Rachael Yamagata and Andrew Bird are all on the disc titled Cho Dependent. We’ve heard some of the tracks on YouTube and we must say she brings the chuckles. Click below for the tracklisting.

Margaret Cho visits The View, talks about G spot

Margaret Cho has a couple of projects up her sleeve. She just released her 5th stand-up comedy DVD titled Beautiful and she also has a new TV show titled Drop Dead Diva coming out soon. She doing a lot of work with self-image and female objectification and we are glad she is embarking on something with a message, not that what she was doing previously wasn’t “with a message” but this time it’s more directed at a specific subject. She also has a comedy music album that will feature her parents. We can’t wait to watch both.

And it’s her first in with democratic administration in office. So, the DVD’s going to be a little different with the usual great mixture of preachiness and laughs.

Margaret Cho is back and “Beautiful”

Margaret Cho is one of our icons. Her stand-up comedy is some of the best shit we’ve seen ever (and we’ve seen a whole lotta stand-up). This DVD, titled Beautiful, is set to be released november 17th and we can’t wait. It will be her 5th stand-up DVD. It’s bound to bring the chuckles for a year to come.

“I’ve got a new show starting at Largo, in Los Angeles, on January 27 and February 24. It’s called “Fingerbang” and it’s totally exciting and new and different. Essentially, the show format is a lot like “Hee Haw,” which was this awesome country comedy variety show from the 70s that I used to watch. It combined really stupid hick comedy with country music, with people jumping up out of cornfields to tell even cornier jokes. “Fingerbang” will be similar, but not as corny and not as country.
