News just in that the legendary Alanis Morissette has given birth to a baby boy. “Alanis Morissette got a very special Christmas package: a son, People magazine has confirmed. ”Alanis Morissette and Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway welcomed a baby boy, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, on Dec. 25th,” says a rep for the new mom. “All are healthy and happy.”
This is unconfirmed as of yet, but it’s worth a report. News just in is that 80s’ soul and pop icon Teena Marie has been found dead. Twitter’s going aflame with this news, but no official reports have come out yet! This is all alleged news but this is what we found on another blog: “A very good source has informed me that Singer Teena Marie has died. No details at this moment and the report is still unconfirmed as the source is very distraught but we will keep you posted. WDAS radio said that this true via Patty Jackson, but still nobody confirm it. if so she was one of the greats in music

2010 has been very busy for Kylie Minogue, her promotional campaign could probably be the strongest and most persistent of the year. Even during her holidays, she shows no signs of stopping with this impromptu-looking video for a video she covered a while back but is reviving. She doesn’t look her best but she brings the sexy. We hope we see ass much of Kylie in 2011.
Mariah Carey is the Christmas lady and this is one of the tracks she did not in promotion of Merry Christmas or Merry Christmas II You, but during her recovery after her much-publicized breakdown post-Glitter. Her delivery is perfect.
“James Morrison has been away writing songs for his third album for much of 2010. The new album, which is still being recorded, will be released during 2011, with live shows to follow. In the meantime, James has recorded a special Christmas message to let everyone know what he’s been up to, wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to play a new song called ‘In My Dreams’.
We discovered Diane Birch serendipitously and fell in love with her. So, when we heard she was to release a covers album of some 80s and 90s classics, we were ready to jump on it. It’s downloading as of now on iTunes, so there will be no review for now, but we are sure it will be lovely.
When we first heard that Mariah Carey was doing a Christmas album we cringed, why? We had never heard of a sophomore Christmas album by a pop artist to do well. What we forgot is Mariah Carey is probably the best artist on earth today to cater to that seasonal niche. Merry Christmas II You delivered strong vocals and festive numbers. The strongest of which is not a folkloric covers, but a song she wrote herself specifically for this album. “When Christmas Comes” follows in the same soul sub-genre of a little-known track Mariah did for her Charmbracelet album titled “Subtle Invitation,” which was also a standout. It fuses elements of soul, gospel, pop and balladry into one, making for a confection that only Mariah could come up with – perfect.
Not okay! We are self-certified lambs and we say that this video has got to be one of the worst videos of the year. Mariah is jumping around as a pregnant woman (a la Whitney Houston in “I’m Every Woman“) and it’s just not pretty. Also, Mariah pretty pouting is not up to par enough to be digestable. We hope this video doesn’t end up on a best of collection. Still, happy new year and any video from Mariah is welcome.

While most performers crawl to the top spot, Carey has claimed the number one just two weeks after releasing her new Christmas hit “Oh Santa!”
