Former Corrs frontwoman Andrea Corr is ready to launch her second solo album named Lifelines on May 30th, 2011. This is the first single off of it. Her last solo job had some nice tunes, but mostly filler. Let’s hope for more.

We don’t get why anyone would want to give her a record deal especially after the fact that her sister, who was the lead vocalist of the Corrs, Andrea Corr failed miserably at her solo record. But, she’s worth the try, we guess. We are definitely going to give it a right spin, but not too hopeful for it. Click below for the tracklisting.

Leaving a band with relative success is risky business, especially when it is critically acclaimed. This is exactly what Gwenno is doing. She split from the quirkfest that was the Pipettes to embark on a solo career in an increasingly dwindling music industry.

Gwenno is one third of the Pipettes . They’re brand of indie pop didn’t settle well with me. It sounded like the Andrews Sisters on speed. However, I have listened to some of the tracks on her promotional EP and it sounds like she has a future, even though she sounded a little like Andrea Corr, which is not a bad thing.
