First Listen: “Anything Like You” by Kelis featuring Will.I.Am
1Kelis is back in the studio and, we are afraid to report, she is not on the right direction. Following Fleshtone, Kelis has gone back to the sound of her previous works with midtempo R&B. We’d much rather have a straight-up dance album from her. Anyway, click below for yourself to decide for yourself.
First Listen: “Simulation” by Roisin Murphy
3Yet another track from Moloko front woman’s Roisin Murphy has leaked. This one is produced by none other that David Morales. It sounds like it could be a big Mykonos dance classic with a little rev up. Honestly, we are tired of listening to snippets here and there of Roisin’s upcoming project and are about ready for an album. Amen? Click below to listen.
Sexy Track: “Down For Whatever” by Kelly Rowland
3Kelly Rowland’s new album is a hodgepodge of R&B and Dance music – a fine line to walk. That is clearly to satisfy her old fans and her post-David Guetta fans. This one is for the dance heads who only listen to tracks if they have remixed heavily. Keeping in my that Kelly ventured into dance way before Guetta summoned her for a track with “Work,” this is a natural evolution of this strut. A palpable track with a Hi-NRG mentality and slutty lyrics to keep you singing out loud for the rest of the winter. Kelly hit it big time with this one!

Sexy Track: “Movement” by Katy B
1It’s about to be a dance-tastic end-of-year. Katy B has delivered one of the best dance songs of the year with this track. “Movement” is a solid contender in ruling the DJ spins this year. It’s a get-up-and-strut kind of track, the kind that starts a night. It is reminiscent of such classics as Nina Sky’s “Move Your Body” and Lumidee’s “Uh Oh.” Fresh on the vocals, this song has one thing in mind and that is a good time. With this track, Katy B’s career seems to be going strong. This is the sixth single from her Mercury Prize-nominated On A Mission.
Video Premiere: “Movement” by Katy B
1This has a nice groove to it. “Give me movement, I need some kind of improvement.” This needed a little bit of a stronger beat, but it’s not bad at all.
First Listen: “Le Bump” by Yolanda Be Cool featuring Crystal Waters
2The dance group that got you the highly infectious, yet absurdly-overplayed “We No Speak Americano” are back with another track that slightly missed the summer. To ensure its success, the band got dance-dive extraordinaire Crystal Waters to provide vocals on the track. Click below to listen to it.
Legendary: “Closer Than Close” by Rosie Gaines
1One of the few Prince proteges to have a hit song, Rosie Gaines rocked the British dance scene with this Hi-NRG track. “Closer Than Close” had a great lyrical hook and a get-up-and-dance beat. If they only made dance music like this today!

Again: Music For July: Opusolar
6In usual July tradition, this compilation was put together really fast and given a haphazard collection. Still, we like it that way and we plan to continue doing so because everyone needs a little mess every once in a while. The beats are run-of-the-mill pop, Eurotrash ditties and Mykonos-dance. It’s all that you expect from a summer compilation. The songs will come and leave you fuzzy inside until your sweet tooth decays. So, keep it sunny and pump it up!

1Exclusive: Lira to release “When I Dance” as second single!
1
Lira’s fourth album Return To Love delivers on so many levels. The first single is one of our favorite tracks of the season. After “Phakade” will come “When I Dance.” It’s a lovely uptempo track that ushers in summer moods. We say exclusive because she tweeted us directly. We hope there’s a great breezy video to match.

1Video Premiere: “Boadicea” by Mason featuring Róisín Murphy
1It turns out that the track everyone thought was from Roisin Murphy’s new record is actually a feature for producer Mason. This is the video for it and it looks like it hopes to be a summer dance hit.
Free Download: “Resurrected” by Omar Afuni
1We have to say we are very fond of Omar Afuni’s debut album Resurrected. It is a great mix of pop-conscious beats and dance anthems. It’s very much worth the download and is completely free for now! So head over to Omar Afuni’s official website and download it now!
Introducing… Nick Pes
1We have scoured the web to find a biography of Nick Pes, one of our latest muses, and all that could find is a small introductory paragraphy. What you need to know is that he is the latest Aussie export to usher in some more glamazon-electro beats that will definitely make you dance. Now, here’s that little synopsis: “Since the disbandment of ‘Leechwife’, the rock outfit he once wrote and performed with, Nick began experimenting with music he could make by himself. A couple years later and Nick’s exploration into electronic music has lead to the creation of a number of electronic slash pop slash dance slash genre-less tracks. He sounds a little bit like this, a little bit like that and a little bit like something you’ve never heard before. The Cinaesthesia EP was released in September 2010.”
