Scissor Sisters coming to Abu Dhabi, UAE!

The ever-so-risque Scissor Sisters are going to take on Yas Island! The chart topping band will be bringing their widely loved and infectious dance floor anthems to the FLASH Forum this January. Known for their humorous and often controversial performances, the band’s unique mix of disco, New York electro and good old fashioned Elton John-era rock n’ roll is widely loved right across the globe. I wonder how they will do the gold leotards in the UAE.

Video Premiere: “Wild Man” by Kate Bush

1

50 Words For Snow is on our desks, yet it’s so hard to digest when it has 13-minute tracks on there. Although we are avid fans for Kate Bush, we had hope for much more vocals and less spoken word. But, “Wild Man” is definitely the highlight of this 7-track album. Doesn’t that make it an EP?

George Michael to release new album inspired by house music!

1

Just when you thought he actually retired George Michaels comes out with a synth-infused cover of New Order’sTrue Faith,” a remastered version of his epic album Faith and news on a whole new album!

Somebody said to me, “This album is going to be like a more electronic Faith, because your writing with that directness again.” I think there’s a lot more joy to put in the writing this time around. Since I’ve been out as a gay man, house music has been more of an influence in my life. So ultimately as a gay man, you don’t really stop listening to club music as early as straight people do and I wanted the album to reflect that,” Michael explained to BBC Radio 2.

Lady Gaga’s duet with Elton John “Hello, Hello” leaks!

3

Ok, this is not from Born This Way. This is just a stupid animated movie ballad, but also, an indication that Lady Gaga is not one of the greatest voices. She’s great, but her voice is not that stellar. Listen to it.

Must-Watch: Video Premiere: “Lights” by Ellie Goulding

1

Just when we wrote off Ellie Goulding this comes along and changes our minds. This is by far her most templated non-cover song she ever released. We got the original album not the re-packaged album that contains this song, but now we are definitely getting it. But, she should have been more of a demure musician because this is the title track from the album and its wasn’t released on the first issue, which means they knew they were going  to re-issue the album or it was a huge statistically almost impossible coincidence. What do you think?

Lady Gaga’s big announcement…

5

This is day-old news now and it’s been everywhere, but we have to post it. So, the big announcement from Lady Gaga on NYE was that her new single is coming out in February 13th, 2011 and is  titled “Born This Way,” which was highly-touted by Elton John to be a big gay anthem. The album of the same name, Born This Way, will be out on May  23rd, 2011. This gap between single and album is very big, but we expect some leaks along the way. Exciting.

The track is tentatively titled “Hello, Hello” and is going to be in the movie that Elton John and his partner David Furnish are producing. Let’s hope it’s a big Lion King type of ballad, as we are in dire need of a good ballad these days.

Lady Gaga pens the “new gay anthem”

2

Apparently Elton John has heard the new album that is set to see a release datein 2011 titled Born This Way. “I love her, and I love her ability to write,” he says. “I love the songs she writes.” A collab between the pair—who’ve become bosom buddies since performing together at January’s Grammy Awards—is a good possiblity. “I’d love to in the future,” John says of working with her. “I’d love to do that.” Then he elaborates: “There’s a chance I might do one track with her [for Born This Way], but it’s just, she’s so busy, and I’m so busy, we can never get together!” But, he adds, “I’ve already heard [Gaga's new album], so I think it’s more or less done. [Born This Way is expected to be released early next year.] Her record—it’s f—ing amazing. ‘Born This Way,’ which is the title song, will completely get rid of Gloria Gaynor’sI Will Survive.’ This is the new ‘I Will Survive.’ That was the gay anthem. This is the new gay anthem.”
