Is this true. The legendary label that spearheaded genres to suffice has folded?
Apart from her stint as a headliner in Lilith Fair, Erykah Badu is embarking on a tour all on herself. Of course, she will have an opening act – some of which are bigger than expected. N.E.R.D, for one and also the fabulous Archandroid Janelle Monae. Click below for the concert dates. We hope to catch one as Erykah Badu is the greatest live act we have seen, and that’s saying something as we have seen Michael Jackson among other greats.
The recent Erykah Badu sample of Ndugu & The Chocolate Jam Co.’s “Take Some Time” on her magnificent song “Umm Hmm” brought back some beautiful old lissom melodies.
We can’t get enough of her new album New Amerykah, Part Two: Return The Ankh. The wait was long but it was worth it. This is a cut from the new album. Click below to watch the live performance.
Here’s Erykah Badu performing her lead single “Window Seat” live on The Wendy Williams Show. New Amerykah Part II: Return Of The Ankh comes out on March 30, 2010!
It seems that Erykah Badu’s wishes that nothing leaks from her new album have gone to the bins. The album already had a couple of songs leak from it, including one she leaked herself titled “Window Seat.” From the sounds of it, Erykah Badu is heading in the right direction for this project. The new song is a burst on energy. Click here to check it out.
How happy are we that the original neosoul star is back with a new track and its sultry and southern twangy! This is a single off of her new album New Amerykah, Part 2: Return Of The Ankh. She looks hot as usual.
Erykah Badu is back in the game with this number that is bound to bring in the numbers as Lil Wayne is in it. The song gets the psychedelic video treatment. Its a cute video and very well recession-budgeted. The idea is nothing new but it compliments the song very well.
Erykah Badu has previously vowed not to release the album should anything after her collaboration with Lil Wayne “Jump Up In The Air And Stay There” leaks. Now the first single, which saw the arrival of its artwork to the blogosphere recently, has leaked in its full quality all over the internet. We hope that Erykah Badu releases New Amerykah, Part 2: The Return Of The Ankh and doesn’t forbid us from some smooth sultry beats.
Update: Good news. Erykah Badu leaked it herself on her twitter account. So, the album’s still coming. And, it’s a guilt-free fully legal download.
