Sheryl Crow’s album “100 Miles From Memphis” has leaked!

1

Oh, happy day. One of the greatest had a a great leak. Sheryl Crow’s new summer infused album with a Jackson 5 cover but not Eternal one has made it to the internet rounds in a form of a leak. We are hella excited but hope that everyone purchases the album in support of one of the greatest artist to grace this earth.  Click here to be forwarded to another blog to investigate the leak.

Laura Bush thinks people care about what she has to say, writes a book

Seriously, if they hired a graphic designer and asked someone to make the book cover to look as republikkkan as ever they couldn’t have done a better job than this. I am the font, the cheesy title, the presidential pose and the glimmer of minority hate  is just too much. What does she have to say? Maybe explaining her best stand-by-your-man poses? We can understand the fascination behind Sarah Palin since she came out of nowhere and became all regal. But, this? Why?

Premiere: Video: “Go Do” by Jónsi

“Jón “Jónsi” Þór Birgisson is the guitarist and vocalist for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. He is known for his use of a cello bow on guitar and his falsetto voice. Jónsi is blind in his right eye. He is also openly gay, and his boyfriend Alex Somers has done much of the graphic design for Sigur Rós.” He is ready to venture into his solo career and this is his first single, which is not that far away from her previous efforts. His solo album is titled Go and will be released April 5, 2010. Excerpt from Wikipedia.

Watch Adam Lambert’s full appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show

He’s really as charming as he is rocking. We love how he is unapologetic about anything and stays strong throughout the hatred. At any rate, Adam Lambert could be the greatest thing to ever come out of American Idol.

Premiere: Video: “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” by Alicia Keys

3

Everyone’s a-buzzing about the Beyonce and Lady Gaga collaboration on “Video Phone” today. But what we are looking forward to is this. One of the best songs of the year gets a video. It’s not that fab but Alicia is looking great. The song carries it well. When you have a big love song like this, it’s hard to come up with a great concept without taking the Chris Isaac route. The special here affects were unnecessary and they look kind of unprofessional, very 2012. We can’t wait until The Element Of Freedom comes out.

Rihanna to release album on November 23rd

1

The internet is a-buzzing with news that Rihanna will release her fourth album next month after the popstar herself tweeted “The Wait Is Ova. Nov 23 09.” But, there’s no buzz from a new single and the album release is already a month away. We feel that “the wait is ova” for another thing. Perhaps an announcement of sorts. Anyway, the wait wasn’t the long since her last single and she just released a collaboration with Jay-Z and Kanye West. Waiting on some more news to surface.

Télépopmusik ready up third album for 2010

1

telepopmusik-lores-2The mastermind behind the debonairly relaxed “Breathe” and “Don’t Look Back” are working on a new album for 2010 not 2009. They first single “Ghost Girl” has been heavily remixed and distributed to promote the release. Although an early push would better service the album. The double single release pre-album is probably on their agenda. It is tentatively titled In The Air. The first single takes a sharper turn into darker beats. Happy chill beats have died down recently, so they are probably exploring a different branch of the same tree. All in all, “Ghost Girl” and its remixes are robust and anything but a let-down, which is what we expect from Télépopmusik.

List of Christina Aguilera’s impressive producer line-up for next album

11

Christina Aguilera has one of the strongest voices of our era. No doubt about it. As much as we love her, we thought that the greatest hits collection was premature and Back To Basics, though it had some solid gems, had too much fluff. Still, we don’t doubt for one second her ability to deliver unlike any of her generation. If you ask us who won the Mickey Mouse Club race to the top, we’d say Christina.

Still, ever since Stripped, which is one of the greatest pop album on this green earth, we haven’t seen much of a cultural impact, let alone a single that stood up by itself. But, it’s looking like Xtina is about to rectify that with the impressive list of producers she has on the Light & Darkness bandwagon. Click below for it.

New album from Air titled Love 2

1

LogoAIR09-Reflets5

Just when you thought the gentle gods of chill out have taken a long “unbend and unwind” they all gush out with new material. First, it was Royskopp. Then, Moby releases one of the best efforts of the year. Now, both Zero 7 and Air announce that they are releasing full lengthers this year. Air are also giving out a free track titled “Do They Joy,” which is obviously not that single because it’s really not that exciting. Sounds like an off-shoot from 10,000 Hz Legend that never made it onto Everybody Hertz. But, it’s just a buzz builder and I am sure there is sexier stuff on Love 2. Not quite sure if this is the album cover, it’s OK. Excited for all this new material. In fact, this is the third most anticipated release for me this year. Mariah, Whitney then Air. Then Zero 7. Unless Fiona Apple releases something, they will all go down one number.

Perez Hilton assualted by Will.I.Am’s posse

2

Picture 1Celebrity blogger and international shit-stirrer Perez Hilton, has been assaulted by Will.I.Am’s posse. He reported the assault on Twitter and said he was bleeding and that he needed the police to come. He had to file a report, that’s what his lawyers told him. He was in Canada for the MuchMusic Awards when it happened. This was his twitter:

“I’m in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please. I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”

Shakira to come back soon

1

shakiracd4

No cover, no leak, no album title. But, it’s worth a mention. Shakira is set to release an English album follow by and Spanish album this year. The lead single is called “She Wolf” and in  Spanish it is tentatively titled “Loba.” The folks over at PopJustice have given it rave reviews citing it as an electronic sounding dance number with the Shakira touch. Let’s hope it’s as big as “Whenever, Wherever” or my personal favorite, which is the butt of some of my friends jokes, “Timor.”

Exclusive: Mariah Carey debuts “Obsessed”

4

mc-obsessed

I just listened to Mariah’s “Obsessed” on the first radio station to debut it – Chicago B96. It’s in the same vain as “Touch My Body,” except it is lower tempo and has fiercer lyrics. It will impact radio just fine and should sell. The release of the album has been pushed to the earlier date of 25th August. This is almost the first time a Mariah album gets this treatment. Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel seems like it is ready to go and they must be confident about it. Listen to it by licking below:

PJ Harvey debuts new song today…

190109_pjharveyjpg

“Black Hearted Love” is the first single from her upcoming album A Woman A Man Walked By. It’s supposed to be guitar heavy and loud. I fear it is a throwback to Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea, which is too much of a ruckus, if you ask me. The direction she was headed to with Uh Huh Her and White Chalk was great. But, the album will come out March 30th for all to judge. The song will be on Zane Lowe Show.
