“Jón “Jónsi” Þór Birgisson is the guitarist and vocalist for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. He is known for his use of a cello bow on guitar and his falsetto voice. Jónsi is blind in his right eye. He is also openly gay, and his boyfriend Alex Somers has done much of the graphic design for Sigur Rós.” He is ready to venture into his solo career and this is his first single, which is not that far away from her previous efforts. Beirut no longer hot spot, Hello Damascus!

Last year The New York Times named Beirut the #1 place to go to in 2009. This year, the list is out and there is not trace of Beirut. It was replaced by Sri Lanka at the top spot (which we fully agree with as we visited Weligama, Kandy, Colombo and Taprobane Island and absolutely adored it). But, interestingly enough, Damascus, also a place of untapped touristic gold, has sprung up at #7. The article explains: “The next Marrakesh? Perhaps mindful of the way that renovations of historic riads have drawn upscale travelers to Marrakesh, Damascus hoteliers are trying to mine tourism gold in the rundown buildings of the Syrian capital’s Old City.”
Also, the most compelling entry at #9 is Antarctica. Now, that’d be fun. Let’s go!

Apple has filed a patent that might be USB for a new and exciting product upcoming sometime soon. It’s a patent that the mac corporation can use for it’s USB devices. It’s a new technology where a USB portable hard drive can detect or a touch or a would-be touch before the user pulls out the the device from the computer to avoid file corruption. It might also be used for other things, perhaps a USB thermometer? Source.

So, this was in Al-Qabas today and it should have been in the comics sections. I don’t know where these beardists or terrorist-embryos get off on saying that if one votes for a woman then they are going to hell. I would like to know what verse that comes from or at least what is their works cited.

This is the third single from the increasingly beautiful album Let It Go. He must be shifting digits, if this album saw a third single. I would have picked “Disconnected” or “Love,” but this one is scrumptious and the video sexily low-budgeted.

I thought “Go Go” was the next single, I was surprised when this came out. I would have picked “Touch Me, Touching You” as the next single. The entire album is a blast of pop greatness, so it doesn’t matter what single they release.
