Tori Amos announces new album “Night Of Hunters” and tour!

1

It’s official. Today, we woke up to an email from Tori Amosmailing list telling us that, aside from the fact that the musical she is working on is almost ready, the diva is ready to unleash a new album titled Night Of Hunters, currently slated for a September release. The album is going to be a magnifying look at classical music, a genre Tori Amos has loved forever.

Here’s what she had to say about it: ”It’s a 21st century song cycle inspired by classical music themes spanning over 400 years.  I have used the structure of a song cycle to tell an ongoing, modern story. The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter.  One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us.”

As if this wasn’t enough, Tori Amos has also announced a tour to go along with it! Click below for the dates.

Lady Gaga’s big announcement…

5

This is day-old news now and it’s been everywhere, but we have to post it. So, the big announcement from Lady Gaga on NYE was that her new single is coming out in February 13th, 2011 and is  titled “Born This Way,” which was highly-touted by Elton John to be a big gay anthem. The album of the same name, Born This Way, will be out on May  23rd, 2011. This gap between single and album is very big, but we expect some leaks along the way. Exciting.

New Rules 8.21

The US becomes less religious

q-atheistnewlogo

According to a new study atheists, agnostics and other non-believers has not only become greater in the US, but it has doubled. This means that not only are non-believers a big chunk of the population, but the third largest belief group after catholics and baptists. I think that this is the case everywhere in world. Some countries that do not allow religious freedom might be surprised as to how many non-believers there are around them. It’s just that most liberals do not like to tread on people’s toes and this causes a silence about pertinent issues like religion and disbelief.  Good for the US. Ladyhawke gets fruity

I don’t get why her music is an apple, if she is allergic.

Introducing… Erin McCarley

000-erin_mccarley-love_save_the_empty-2009-frontLove, Save The Empty is Erin McCarley’s debut album and it is a mixture of pompous folk and moody rock. It is like a cross between Sheryl Crow, KT Tunstall and Chantal Kreviazuk. My current favorites are “Blue Suitcase” and “Sticky Sweet.” I watched he perform live on David Letterman and she was great. I am looking forward to listening more.
