First Listen: “Melancholy Sky” by Goldfrapp
1After their disaster last album Head First, Goldfrapp is still trying to give it another go. This is a new track from the twosome. No word yet on the status of this track – if it will end up on the new album or not. But, it will probably be one of the new tracks on their “Best Of” collection which is set for tentative release in early 2012. Click below to listen to it.

Goldfrapp have come out of hibernation to make make a very chill slowed down version of Lady Gaga’s “Judas.” The version is starkly different than what we have come to expect from them, but it is reminiscent of their first album. Click below to read it.
Goldfrapp working on new album!
3Goldfrapp‘s Will Gregory has confirmed that they duo are back in the studio to record a new album. “We have tried sitting down and writing lists and having coffee to talk about it, but usually we just mess about, it’s good not to be too conscious about what you do,” he said. This comes in as both good and bad news. Good because they need return to form, bad because we don’t have much faith in the after the two past album tanked. The last one was just horrendous.
Goldfrapp have been dropped from record label!
The team that got us electro-lush way before Gaga graced the scene has been dropped form their record label. That is not only due to the fact that they have been selling bad, but also because their last album Head First was just a horrible effort. Nothing new or exciting about it at all. Here’s what they had to say about it: “
Our contract ended in August so we are no longer with EMI. We aren’t with anyone. It means when this tour ends I will have a meltdown. No, it’s very exciting if I’m serious. It’s exciting because it is kind of, like, ‘Wow, this is a whole new chapter really, what will we do and will anyone want us?’.
And we definitely want to do more work together and write a new album and we want to do some other things. It feels like an endless world of opportunity really, it’s exciting.”

Sad to say, but Goldfrapp’s new album still hasn’t managed to catch our ear like the predecessors did. “Alive” doesn’t cut it either. It’s sad to see such an act go down in the dumps!

2Goldfrapp performs “Rocket” live, gets it right this time
Not loving the new album Head First to tell you the truth. But, we have never liked a complete Goldfrapp album, just the singles.
Goldfrapp messes up lip sync performance on live Italian TV
She looks disoriented a bit, but if the balloons were bothering her so much she could just back up and perform there or not move. But, she went and looked a fool with the vocals singing without her singing. Anyway, we are not too happy about her new album Head First. It’s just not up to par.
