“Genre-smashing musical pioneers Goldfrapp announce their brand new album Head First to be released through Mute on March 23, 2010. This will be preceded by the fantastic new single ‘Rocket’ on March 9th. Head First is Goldfrapp’s most powerful trip to date, a speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance. With life affirming lyrics and stellar production it lifts off at full tilt and takes us on a journey to the heart of 2010. The duo’s fifth album, Head First is written and produced by band mates Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and was recorded throughout 2009 in Bath and in London.”

3Goldfrapp are set to debut their first single off of their new album Head First. “Rocket” is a return to form, but still a different direction. It’s less experimental dance and more club ready. The artwork’s a bit La Roux, though. Click below to listen to the track. (Thanks Jorge for the heads up).

3New Goldfrapp album expected in March 2010 titled “Head First”
7Goldfrapp is working hard at the studio to produce her latest and, some mights say, greatest. In March we will be introduced to another rough of electropop that is less Seventh Tree and more Supernature. According to her record label, the album will be a “speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance.” We can’t wait for it as Goldfrapp was the only shock of music glam we had pre-GaGa. Video: Caravan Girl by Goldfrapp…
Record companies no longer spend any money on videos. As you can see. But, if you are going to release a concept album that is so different from your previous work, you should at least work on packaging it well. This album was, by far, the worst Goldfrapp album, but the singles were not so bad. They all got lackluster videos and, as a result, measly airplay.
Christina Aguilera needs to shut up…

I am boycotting the greatest hits album. She had three studio albums before it, I have all of them. “Keeps Gettin’ Better” is a farce. “Dynamite” is lackluster. Notice the fake laugh at 1:07.
Little Boots releases mixtape…
Little Boots has released a mixtape that is available for download free of charge on Arjanwrites.com. I have never been so excited for an artist I have heard so little from. But, The little from Little Boots has been great. She is like a cross of Robyn and Roisin Murphy, with a little Goldfrapp thrown in. That’s a hodgepodge of electrolush. She calls it “post nu rave.”
