Annie Lennox’s solo career compressed

2

Annie Lennox has had an impressive solo career, especially considering the fact that it’s heavily built on cover versions. Her double-platinum album Medusa is made up entirely of covers and the new single is an Ash cover. Her voice is her trademark and she has left a cultural impact on the pop world with her solo work and her time as one-half of the Eurythmics. This is a DJ Earworm compression of her solo efforts in celebration of her greatest hits collection.

Video: “Kill The Lights” by Britney Spears

1

Don’t get your panties up in a bunch, it’s just an animated video for one of the best songs of Circus. There’s no excuse for it. When she did the animated video for “Break The Ice” we understood because she was going through rehab. Now, why this? I mean a live version with some graphics, in the Madonna manner of “Miles Away” and “Get Together,” would have been better than this Bratz looking fiasco! For such a fun and happening song she should have done something elaborate and dancey, but something tells me Britney just wants to release as many songs as possible to fill a singles compilation coming out soon.

Melanie C to release video collection

Melanie C - Video CollectionWhen it rains, it pours. Melanie C will not only release a live DVD but also a video collection of all her hits and misses from the major label days to the indie cuts. It will contain some new material and will also have a bonus disc of features. A whole disc! In any case, C has been on a hiatus to give birth and this is what a lot of office time, but no studio time does. Continue reading

Madonna names collection “Iconography”

4

pcn_madonna_hm_1

She’s at it again. Selling out for money and nothing else. Many say this is her third greatest hits compilation. I say it’s the fourth. The Immaculate Collection, Something To Remember, GHV2 and Iconography. Madonnaheads will say Something To Remember is a concept album. But most of the tracks on it are from older albums or soundtracks or EPs. And don’t get me started on her EPs. Whatever it is, the new name is fitting. She’ll hire some rapper and put out a horrid little tune that will be remixed 20 times and played at circuit parties until I am 71. That doesn’t mean it’s good, though.

Madonna to offer another piece-of-crap product

6

Remember this ostentatiously horrid track suit that madonna tried to sell you on big Piccadilly Circus billboards from H&M? Well that is not the only way that this increasingly insignificant diva is trying to get your money with.

Following the get-your-cash schemes of Sticky & Sweet tour and the utterly horrid Hard Candy, Madonna is set to “please” her fans with a greatest hits collection.

Rolling Stone needs to retire…

4

mrsYou know, these made up charts really piss me off. Not only because they are always off the mark, but because of how they are compiled. They always tend to be sexist (especially Rolling Stone and Q magazines) and a little on the i-hate-the-music-scene-now beat of things.

Christina Aguilera needs to shut up…

7

I am boycotting the greatest hits album. She had three studio albums before it, I have all of them. “Keeps Gettin’ Better” is a farce. “Dynamite” is lackluster. Notice the fake laugh at 1:07.
