1This chanteuse from Ire produced some of the folk sounds of 2011. This is the standout track and single from her album Let It Break.

1Sexy Track: “Keep Running” by Gemma Hayes
1Hailing all the way from Ireland, this folkster is no stranger to dreamy low-tempo numbers. Also, she is the perfect chanteuse for road-trip music. This track is no different, it is a great rock number with carefully embedded lyrics that will give you wanderlust at first listen. It’s climactic and has a strong story, until the chorus hits and keeps you humming for days.

Gemma Hayes to release a new album early 2011!
Video: “When I’m Alone” by Lissie
2We are loving the new up and coming artist which we recommended for 2010. Lissie’s folk/rock verges on good Gemma Hayes territory while crying an ode to greats just as Carole King and Joni Mitchell.
Legendary: “Happy Sad” by Gemma Hayes
We have been following Gemma Hayes since her first EP and we continue to find gems on each and every release she offers. She has been quiet for a bit now, but this classic reminds us of her songwriting prowess and unconventional voice. This song manages to capture the lull of life after a certain happening that might be bittersweet or just bitter. Feeling “Happy Sad” is a state of sweet epiphany with a dull goodbye. The whole album, The Roads Don’t Love You, captures this fleeting of emotions in the journey of life. Good stuff.
Sean Hayes comes out of the closet!
1Another one for the “duh!” files. Sean Hayes, who played Will & Grace’s flamboyant flamer Jack McFarland, has come out publically and officially. He tells The Advocate that he didn’t feel the need to come out because he wanted to be believable as an actor. Apparently, a magazine cover in dry times is a good enough reason to come out. At any rate, we’re not trying to hate but when Will & Grace first came out it was still unheard of for someone to be out unless you are Ellen or your were outed like George Michael or Stephen Gately (and not American). So, it would have been nice if it was then not now. Anyway, we’ve known since we snuck into an indie cinema in our young age to watch Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss.
