Out favorite childhood comic have decided to extend their diverse character line-up from the occasionally-reappearing Nancy (the only black girl) to a full-blow gay male. The character, Kevin Keller, will enter the comic very soon as a new friend of Jughead’s who out-eats him in a competition. Later on in the story Veronica Lodge falls for him and he admits his gayness. Yes, Riverdale is getting a full-blown queen. It is not clear if Archie Comics did this move in order to portray a diverse set of characters for the new generation, or if they need some publicity or new story lines. But, it’s one of the most widely read comics on earth and it’s always a pleasure to see accepting side to an old establishment. We are going to go back into our attic to find our Archie comics. Oh, and, what would have been a great story line is if Archie or Reggie feel for him and Betty transformed into a full-fledged fag hag. Too much? Maybe. Click below to see the coming out strip.

Ricky Martin comes out of the closet as gay!
3We knew it all along. But, finally! He just referred to himself as a “fortunate homosexual.” Yeah, fortunate after he came out too late and didn’t help the cause. No sympathy for this friend of Dorothy. Now that she got what she wanted in life, she wants to reap the benefits of the lifestyle. Why now? It’s really no big news and kind of sad that it took him that long to admit it, when he could have helped with exposure and visibility before. No clapping hands for him. Click here for more and more.
Sean Hayes comes out of the closet!
1Another one for the “duh!” files. Sean Hayes, who played Will & Grace’s flamboyant flamer Jack McFarland, has come out publically and officially. He tells The Advocate that he didn’t feel the need to come out because he wanted to be believable as an actor. Apparently, a magazine cover in dry times is a good enough reason to come out. At any rate, we’re not trying to hate but when Will & Grace first came out it was still unheard of for someone to be out unless you are Ellen or your were outed like George Michael or Stephen Gately (and not American). So, it would have been nice if it was then not now. Anyway, we’ve known since we snuck into an indie cinema in our young age to watch Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss.
Is Mona Lisa a drag queen?
1Art historians and scientists from Italy are asking the country’s official to exhume Leonardo Da Vinci’s body to prove that the Mona Lisa is not a woman, but, in fact, Leonardo Da Vinci himself in drag attire. Click here for more information.
Whitney Houston sings for Italy, supposedly a lesbian!
3Whitney Houston has been all across the news today. First she perform “Million Dollar Bill” for Italy’s X-Factor. This time less crazily. Looking nice and smooth in a white dress and a black belt. Meanwhile, former husband and bandwagoner Bobby Brown is writing a biography of sorts to support his habit, probably. In it, he says that Whitney Houston is allegedly a lesbian. Yes, he does as far as saying his former wife of many years is a homosexual. That’s fine. But, if he knew why was he still with her. What did she have to get a divorce from him. That says more about him than her. When was he in the business of outing people and has he thought of their daughter? At any rate, it won’t stop Whitney from reclaiming her throne.
Due: An apology to Alan Turing
5Alan Turing is considered the father of computer science. In fact, some will go as far as claiming that he invented the modern-day computer. He revolutionized his science and propelled it to new grounds back when he was allowed. He even got Britain through a war with his genius. But, this respect was not reciprocated.
You see, Alan was gay and he was arrested for “gross indeceny” – the same law that persecuted Oscar Wilde. He was forced to choose between imprisonment or chemical castration. He chose the latter and after he was shunned and condemned. So, he committed suicide with some cyanide.
Now, the freaks and the geeks have come together to sign a petition to ask for an apology for this horrid and bigoted incident. Sign it here and let it be known that a queen is the reason why you are reading this right now. Go to his Wikipedia page to read more than my synopsis of him.
Brad Pitt talks liberalism with Bill Maher
2Why is what he said so controversial? It’s liberalism 101. He is so guarded, yet so passionate. Yes, legalization of marijuana is a right, yes gay marriage is a human right and yes the right to no religion is a human right. Get over yourselves good-bye and get over it! If you don’t believe in something it doesn’t mean that other people shouldn’t enjoy these rights. Sit down on your couch, do what you feel is right and shut the fuck up.
Must-Watch: Experiment on homophobia
2We’ve known this all along, it’s just that this is proof for all the naysayers. If you are confident about who you are, you really won’t judge other people. But, it’s only when the insecurities kick do they go crazy. Does this out every single bigot in the world? No. But it sure does give a clear picture where all this hatred is coming from. Just like the guy that leaves obscene comments on my blog but keeps checking it everyday and at different times. Don’t you have something better to do if this is not really your type of scene?
Marc Jacobs designs pro-gay rights t-shirts
4
In the quest for equality and human rights, the newly-married Marc Jacobs has released a series of t-shirt that demand equal rights for marriage. Good point, why should gay people be taxed if they can’t live equal lives and can’t get their right to pursuit of happiness, which the US constitution cites explicitly.
These t-shirts cost $24. The proceeds will go directly to the Human Rights Campaign. They will be available in all Marc by Marc Jacobs stores hopefully around the world.
Sanctifying marriage…
Adam Lambert comes out of the closet
7Seriously? It was only a matter of time. I don’t even watch American Idol and I could tell from the pics throughout the web. That’s why he didn’t when. Had he done a wholesome Garth Brooks number instead of a Queen cover he probably would have won over middle America, which is really voting America. Instead cookie-cutter Kris Allen won with his banality. In any case, had he come out during the whole Prop 8 debacle it would have been a better time. But, I guess you got to make money somehow. But, I have no qualms with him because he is a skinny-chaser. Up next, Jonathan Knight and Queen Latifah. Click below for his pics in drag and with boyfriend.
Borat is now Brüno
2Don’t know whether to cheer or jeer this. A part of me feels like it might be a great flick that will expose the world to the absurdity of pigeonholing people and another part is afraid that it might end up being a cesspit of stereotyping that will me a laughingstock out of a minority. But, I do remember feeling, that in Borat, the people who turned out to be the laughed-at where not the two Kazakh characters, but the other people in the movie. Well, in some cases.
Iowa legalizes same-sex marriage
4
What a great day for the civil rights movements when a square state like Iowa legalizes gay marriage with a unanimous Supreme Court decision. Pioneering the way for the midwest and attaining this human right before states like New York and Maine. Of course it’s mainly corn crops there, but still it’s a state that will light up blue and free on charts. Hopefully, this will be a trend that runs across the united states although i think it should be a federal decision. In any case, today’s for Iowa.

Mad props to Iceland…
1
I couldn’t have said it better. From TruthDig.com:
“Hats off to the Scandinavians, who continue to make the world’s progressives green with envy. Even as Iceland faces economic catastrophe, the volcanic island nation has made history by naming the world’s first (for the most part) openly gay national leader. Johanna Sigurdardottir will become prime minister. (The New York Daily News says Norway briefly had an openly gay man as prime minister.)
The family-values types can just relax. Sigurdardottir has been married to her female companion for seven years.”
Is Iceland Scandinavia, though?
Boy George has been jailed…
2
Boy George has been put in jail for 15 months. That’s harsh. I’m sure he’ll be dropping the soap everyday. He is in for tying up a Norwegian escort named Audun Carlsen and beating him. I mean, you ran out of things to do? Bondage is fun but it should always be simulated. He was photographed pornographically by George and apparently had some other problems. He should have asked “Do you really want to hurt me?”
To the principal’s office for dirty dancing…
Prince Harry’s gay kiss…
20
I don’t know what exactly is happening with Prince Harry. Either he’s a bona fide rebel or just going crazy before rehab. Right after his anti-arab slur comes this. I don’t know whether this is from the same video or not. But, could he be homosexual? I mean that lick is hardcore. Or isn’t? Check out this article:
Must-Watch: Milk (2008)
1
I have been waiting for this movie for a long time. I am very familiar with Harvey Milk’s life and work. When rumors of this movie surfaced, I was both excited and anxious. I was afraid that in the hollywoodization of this film his life would be misrepresented and the issues not given the right treatment. I have to say that the movie does as much justice as can, considering the fact that it has to squeeze in a person’s life in approximately two hours.
Sean Penn has always been an actor to reckon with and James Franco is just pure eye-candy. The movie goes back in time to depict the early days of the gay civil rights movement post-Stonewall and pre-HIV/AIDS. In a time that was drenched in ignorance and intolerance towards any sexual minority. San Francisco was center stage for the liberal front, where hippies, gays and other social outcasts gathered to fit in. In the process they managed to elect the first openly gay governmental figure in US history (if you don’t count Abraham Lincoln).
