Whitney Houston’s next single is “Worth It”

“Worth It” has been announced as the next single from Whitney Houston’s comeback album I Look To You. This one totally caught us by surprise as we never thought it was a good track and were routing for “A Song For You” to be the next single. Anyway, let’s see if it sounds good with the video.

Whitney Houston does X-Factor, crazily!

Is she back on the crack? Or is it still whack? She was all over the place with this performance of “Million Dollar Bill.” We’re glad she’s finally back, but can she sing instead of speaking the words. We know she still has it, but does she have it live?

Whitney Houston does “Million Dollar Bill” for French TV

She doing all the big market capitals in Europe. First Germany, now France. She is leaving out the UK until last because the album will be released there much later even though the import section at record stores is practically all I Look To You copies. This single is a grower and her vocals (on it) are up to par.

Premiere: Video: “I Look To You” by Whitney Houston

“Million Dollar Bill” was supposed to be the first single from I Look To You. We were surprised that this ballad came first, but it makes sense. People want the old Whitney back. This is the closest thing. She’s looking demure and preened, isn’t she?

Whitney Houston to land on the #1 spot, beats Miley Cyrus

The numbers are in and it looks like Whitney’s album will take the top spot beating teen queen Miley Cyrus by a stretch. The sales are estimated to be a quarter of a million during the first week, which is grand for a dying market. That’s enough to put her there for a couple of weeks but it happened all in the debut week. Disney tweens are angry!!

Whitney Houston is officially back

I Look To You is out now and then 7-year wait is over! Not too sure about all these rave reviews. It’s not that lush, but it has some kind of momentum. Maybe because of the long haitus or it’s a good LP, haven’t decided which one yet. And all these songs are “hit songs?” Not really. None are. “I Look To You” and “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” are two early leaks.

“Million Dollar Bill” is the single but it has yet to make a wave or two. There’s still no video for it, which is very unusual for a big time artist to have an album out before the first video. Maybe it’ll debut soon to bring in the buzz. At any rate, it’s an Okay album and that’s about it. Maybe the remixes will pull it up. Click below for her Ebony cover and a vintage clip of cheese.

i look to you

Whitney Houston’s comeback album I Look To You has leaked entirely a week before it’s release date. Some tracks from the album have leaked earlier. But, some sounded like teasers. The tracks where “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” and “I Look To You.” Then the first single, the Alicia Keys-penned “Million Dollar Bill,” came out. For the past week we have heard and seen other released like “Salute.” Today, however, the entire album was made available for illegal downloading all across the blogosphere. A simple google search will get it for you. That is really bad news for the diva, especially since there has been a tight lid on this project for a while and now it is available for free. The only way to save her is to release it tomorrow on iTunes. Otherwise, she will lose a lot of her buyers.

“Million Dollar Bill” – the Alicia Keys-penned disco number that is set to bring Whitney Houston back to the forefront of divaland has been leaked. It’s making the illegal blog rounds right now. Not that we love following the law. Anyway, this cover for the single hits too close to Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel territory. Mariah won’t be mad though she loves Whitney.

Glad they didn’t use the picture that has been circulating around the internets for a while now. This is a great album cover for Whitney. It’s a declaration of maturity and sanity with a little pinch of diva thrown in. She looks like she is very astute and glamazon-esque. I Look To You is pointing at all the right directions. Also, the track listing has been announced. Click below for it.

Whitney Houston announces “Mill Dollar Bill”

As expected, the mediocre ballad “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” is not the first song from Whitney Houston’s highly-anticipated return of an album I Look To You. It was just a teaser track that was probably leaked by the Arista execs to build up some hype around the new album. Whitney has officially stated that an uptempo track done with Swizz Beatz titled “Mill Dollar Bill” will be the official first single. The track was written by none other than Alicia Keys.

Whitney Houston names album “I Look To You”

Jesus. Maybe? Bobby Brown? Unlikely. Michael Jackson? Yes. Anyway, the title is tepid and not what was expected. It should have been a proclamation. Some big statement about coming back and standing out. I mean, if Ashanti can call her album The Declaration then Whitney Houston can do much better, for reals. I Look To You doesn’t quite deliver liked Undefeated. The supposed first single, which I am sure is just a teaser, is already being hailed as a Leona Lewis b-side. The title is overawing – “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” – but the strength’s not in the song. Voice in-tact, but not that great of a melody. Everything aside, any new material is welcome.
