Sexy Track: “With You” by Flight Facilities featuring Grovesnor

When it comes to winning streaks in the iTunes age, nobody has done it like Flight Facilities. The Australian dance outfit has scored an underground hit once every year since their wonderful “Crave You” came out. Their second single was “Foreign Language,” which took us by storm and still didn’t let go. Now, they come back with a third single “With You” with no sight of an album. That’s how they do it in the mp3 era.

The new single “With You” speaks of an adulterous affair. While my friends are having a dispute on whether the pronouns point to a homosexual or heterosexual relationship, the message covers a topic not often-trodden. This is the new single with summer beats and a lively chorus that will leave you repeating it even when the song is not on. This is a truly remarkable track from a band that has not faltered yet.

Lofty Prediction: Kylie Minogue to release “Rarities” compilation after tour!

Everyone knows that Kylie loves to release her live shows in audio versions. There are so many of them, the fans started liking the live versions more than the originals. So, it comes as no surprise to predict that Kylie Minogue might actually release a live set of these tracks on the set list of the Anti-Tour, which features some classic Kylie tracks that never got the attention they deserve. But, something also tells us that she might release the actual studio cuts in one compilation after or during the tour. If not, then rest assured that the live disc will hit iTunes sometime soon.

Exclusive: 5 Questions with LOFT965.com: Daley

1

1. Greetings From Kuwait! Loft965.com picked your song “Game Over” as a “Sexy Track” of the year! How do you feel about that and what do you think the rest of the year holds for you?

I think I’m quite happy with that, it is a little bit sexy… thank you Loft965.com! The rest of the year will involve a lot of music, basically. I have my mixtape ‘Those Who Wait’ going onto iTunes with some extra songs and videos and I’m in the process of finishing off my album which I’m really excited about. That will be released later this year, so I have high hopes for that. Music, videos, touring, travelling.

2. Right now, we can’t get enough of “Alone Together.” How is it working with Marsha Ambrosius?

Marsha is such a beautiful person, she’s so talented and real, she was a pleasure to work with. And I really enjoyed writing ‘Alone Together’ with her, it felt organic and the ideas we each had fitted really nicely together. It’s one of my favourites on the mixtape for sure.

3. When will your full-length album drop and what will it be called?

It will be later this year, I’m finishing it as we speak. And the title is still a secret!

4. Your music is very soulful, who are your major influences growing up?

My main influence would have to be Prince, he’s my all time favourite. But I listen to a lot of Chaka Khan, Joni Mitchell, Jill Scott, Maxwell, George Michael, Sade, Imogen Heap too… so they all combine with me when it comes to my music.

5. We love quotes, what is your favorite quote or motto?

I’m actually not sure… I don’t have a definitive favourite quote if I’m honest. I like ‘It could always be worse…’ – a simple one, but something I find myself saying a lot, whenever I’m not 100% happy with something.

Again: Music For A Decade: Thalatheen

11

In celebration of conquering yet another decade, we decided to put together a compilation of some of the strongest and most inspirational songs we had ever heard in our lives. This compilation was set to be a benchmark of a new era and also a collection of the songs that have influenced me the most. Although one would think that picking your favorite songs of a lifetime is easy, this was probably one of the hardest compilations we have had to put together. First off, for a crazed music fan, its hard to nitpick tracks that have made a change in your life. Music is not stagnant and certain songs may have special meanings during times and not during others. Still, we managed to go down our entire library and we ended up with 70+ tracks, so we had to scale down.

All of the songs on here have had a great influence on us growing up and living through. Unlike other compilations, all of the tracks have the lyrics embedded in them. Also, all of the songs are dedicated to someone. These dedications are in some cases tied to the memory of hearing the song or it has lyrical connotation or merely general unrelated dedications. Some of the tracks on Thalatheen speak of epochs of memories. So, this one’s coming from the heart and it’s our gift to you. Yes, we give gifts out on our birthday! lol.
