Sexy Track: “Le Boom Vent Suite” by Jill Scott
1If there was a soundtrack to sex, Jill Scott would be the artist most heavily featured on it, along with Prince. This track is just a testament to the fact that sometimes Jill Scott can turn a suite into a right romp with great detail to sensuality. This is the kind of track that can turn a small live bar a lit or can turn the bedroom scenario upside down. “Le Boom Vent Suite” is what we have come to expect from Jill Scott, slow-mo, poetic lyrics and an overtly-sexualized atmosphere. This one is literally a “Sexy Track.”

Sexy Track: “So In Love” by Jill Scott featuring Anthony Hamilton
1What can we say about Jill Scott that hasn’t been said before. She brings it back to the basics of love and true emotion. On this track, she turns a relationship in its prime into an ode for love’s surrender so effortlessly and smoothly. Her vocals merge with the melody perfectly. She is probably the only artist alive today that can go into spoken word in the middle of a song and sound so hot. This track chantes on the line between sex and love. It’s definitely one of the best tracks of 2011.

Jill Scott to release two albums in 2011!
1
We all know the the lustrious Jill Scott left her former record label bitterly, but we didn’t know that she had many tracks under them that they are about to capitalize on. Just Before Dawn: Jill Scott From the Vault, Vol. 1 is a medley of songs by R&B singer Jill Scott during her recording sessions and before her departure at Hidden Beach Recordings. According to wikipedia: “On February 3, 2010, Hidden Beach Recordings sued Jill with founder Steve McKeever stating helped launch Scott’s career and nurtured her into a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter but was unceremoniously dumped in October after a 10-plus year relationship. She was supposed to record and release 3 more albums with Hidden Beach. She is now with Warner Bros.“

8This is probably the one thing that could distract us from all the beyonce hoopla as of now. The cover artwork to the muchly-anticipated fourth full-length album from Jill Scott, The Light Of The Sun. This is probably going to be one of the best albums of the year, if not the decade. Let’s hope it’s the best of the century, which she has the ability of reaching. Okay, let’s step off of our Jill Scott pedestal and just embrace the new look. Fierce, gurrrl!
