The cover artwork to the muchly-anticipated fourth full-length album from Jill Scott, The Light Of The Sun. This is probably going to be one of the best albums of the year, if not the decade. Let’s hope it’s the best of the century, which she has the ability of reaching. Okay, let’s step off of our Jill Scott pedestal and just embrace the new look. Fierce, gurrrl!

“Following a recently settled, tumultuous legal battle with previous label Hidden Beach, which found her countersuing the label’s claim that she exited halfway through a six-album deal last year, singer/songwriter Jill Scott has signed a distribution deal with Warner Brothers Records.
Scott is currently in the studio working on her upcoming album, The Light of the Sun, which is slated for an early summer release.

1Jill Scott’s fourth full-length album Light Of The Sun has been scheduled for a late 2010 release. She is currently in a Philadelphia studio, allegedly, putting some touches to the record with Terry Lewis, JR Hutson and Justice League. We are glad it still hasn’t been postponed and are waiting to hear some stuff from the soul diva.

Jill is starring in the new Tyler Perry movie with Janet Jackson “Why Did I Get Married Too.” The movie is in theaters starting today Friday April 2nd. She is also keeping up with her music career. What a successful independent woman.

Jill Scott’s working hard on becoming a full-fledged actress. The soulstress had a great role in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? and then went on to do her own mini-series playing a Batswana in the BBC/HBO series The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. Now, she is trying to cram in this last role before the release of the fourth installation of her music albums Words And Sounds titled The Light Of The Sun. We love Jill.

Listen, there is good new and there is great news. This none of them. This is staggering news in our book for the thesaurus’s sake. Jill Scott has just announced that the next album, which is the fourth installment in here Words & Sounds series, is coming out in late Spring or early Summer of this year. We can’t be any happier and we know this’ll land on out “Top of” lists for a while. That’s not all: it’ll be called The Light Of The Sun: Words & Sounds Vol. 4. This is sugar in our bowl. We can’t wait to hear it.
