Is Johnny Depp dead?

6

Update: Ok, not sure yet but people are saying that allegedly he is in France and his car has been completely totalled and nobody is sure is he is dead, but this rumor came on a little stronger than other death rumors. There was no trace of it as of minutes ago and fake celebrity fake deaths usually take time to evolved. It’s already the #2 trending topic on twitter.

John Mayer on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine

John Mayer’s been doing some charity work for Haiti on CNN recently, but he is also promoting his latest album Battle Studies. This cover pose is basically a marketing campaign to make Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Love-Hewitt jealous. It shows John Mayer as the sex symbol that he is minus the sour face he makes when he grimace-sings.

Elton John working on a dance album!

1

Spinner has just confirmed that Elton John is indeed working of a dance album. We can’t imagine Elton doing dance, the closest thing was “I’m Still Standing.” Anyway, here’s what they had to say: “Proving that you’re never too old to hit the dancefloor, it has been revealed Sir Elton John is set to release an album of dance music after working with Australian producers P’Nau. Best known for their work with Empire of the Sun, the production team are set to move Sir Elton into totally uncharted territory and in the process have sparked a furious bidding war between labels eager to release the material. A source close to the singer told the Sun: ‘Elton says he’s writing his most exciting new stuff for years — possibly decades. Working with P’Nau has got the creative juices flowing again. They have got a load of big companies sniffing around.’”

John Mayer’s muchly-awaited new album has been leaked. Yes, the entire Battle Studies album. It’s his fourth album and it was supposed to be out on November 17th. He said about it: “The album is called Battle Studies and that’s because it incorporates a lot of the lessons, a lot of the observations, and a little bit of advice. Like a handbook, like a heartbreak handbook.”

Boy George talks about jail time…

This is Boy George’s first revelatory interview about his jail sentence for his imprisonment of an Norwegian rent boy. He looks the same as he did years ago. He said that he expected it, so we feel sorry for him a little bit. But, he liked being tagged and restrained.  That must’ve been an exercise in discipline. It’s funny how in prison they cover up the lewd pictures in magazines. We know a place like that, if you know what we mean. Anyway, as always he’s funny and smart. Click below for part 2.

That’s a nice cover. The typeface fits well, too. He’s looking prettier with age. And gayer, apparently. At any rate, his new song is beautiful and we have a feeling that this will be a big one for John Mayer. Continuum, his last, was his best effort and he seems to be on a progress streak. Battle studies contains a track featuring Taylor Swift and a cover of a late blues musician Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads.” Click below for the track list.

“Full House” to become a movie

John Stamos wants to make a movie out of “Full House.” The 80s’ family sitcom that brought him to fame and created a staple of that era. Not sure on what form the moviewill take or if syndicated 80s’ comedy will work now, but I welcome it because, like Calvin Harris, “I got love for you if you were born in the 80s’.”

The news from TVSquad.com:

“John Stamos wants to make a movie out of Full House. Not since the talk of adapting Hello, Larry has a rumor caused such an enthusiastic uproar.

Introducing… Diane Birch

00-diane_birch-bible_belt-2009

The UK is not the only country to jump on the motown throw-back bandwagon. The US is catching up. Diane Birch is a singer in that vein. All tracks on the album have the scratch and whimper of a soul vinyl record. The kind one listens to from beginning to end. But, considering that this is a US artist, an element of twang and, dare I say, country exists throughout the album. Bible Belt has some solid old skool tunes like “Choo Choo” and the epic “Ariel,” which brings back Elton John during his prime. The whole album is filled with scrumptious tracks from the smooth “Nothing But A Miracle,” where show showcases her poignant voice to the haunting closer “Magic View.” Diane Birch is definitely an artist to look out for. I’ll keep you posted.

John Legend has just twittered that he is working on an album slated for 2010 that is going to be called Wake Up Sessions. The effort is going to be a collaboration with, none other than, The Roots. They’re probably taking a break from their Jimmy Fallon show, which is a nightmare. I am sure it is going to sound fantastic.

Vatican forgives John Lennon…

1

john_lennon_rainbowFrom Yahoo.com:

“VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – The Vatican’s newspaper has finally forgiven John Lennon for declaring that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, calling the remark a “boast” by a young man grappling with sudden fame.”

Really? Now? The Vatican has been holding the grudge since 1966? I doubt that he would have cared had he been alive. The question is: will a pacifist like John Lennon ever forgive the Vatican for the atrocities it has committed over the last couple of decades. Blasphemy is one thing, genocide is another.
