Welcome to the post with the longest title in Loft965.com. Norah Jones is about to jump on the duets bandwagon, which we think every artist should do at least once is their career. The list of artists are impressive but we think she could have done better. Maybe, Fiona Apple, Natalie Merchant or Melody Gardot. Nonetheless, we are looking forward to it.

Grace Jones says Lady Gaga is copying her!

Grace Jones flatly refused an offer to work with the Gaga, according to her. She said: “I said no. I’d just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually.”

Jokes aside about Grace Jones’ music career never really picking up, but shouldn’t Jones be happy that one of the world’s biggest and brightest stars right now is doing something somewhat similar to what she is doing. Lady Gaga is visually stimulating but her songs have some oomph to them, which is more than we can say for Grace Jones who spent her life being a damsel of grace, no pun intended, in vision yet never really making her mark on the dance music world.

Laura Marling to release not one, but two albums in 2010

British indie folk singer deserved an honorable mention on our Albums Of The Decade post for her debut Alas I Cannot Swim. Now she is back with a new album slated for a March release titled I Speak Because I Can. The first single from this 10-track album is “Devil’s Spoke.” That is only half the news. Laura Marling is also planning on releasing another album by the end of 2010. She working on it as of now with producer Ethan Jones. The albums will have an air of “Englishness” and, of course, the trademark emotional folk strumming of Laura Marling. This sounds promising!
