First Listen: “Anything Like You” by Kelis featuring Will.I.Am

1

Kelis is back in the studio and, we are afraid to report, she is not on the right direction. Following Fleshtone, Kelis has gone back to the sound of her previous works with midtempo R&B. We’d much rather have a straight-up dance album from her. Anyway, click below for yourself to decide for yourself.

Rihanna reveals new single title and release date!

3

The redheaded (from a bottle) one is on a roll with churning those albums and singles out. LOUD is not getting a recording or touring hiatus, but instead will be followed immediately by another single. Rihanna’s upcoming single titled “We Found Love” is going to be released on October 11th, and It’s produced by Clavin Harris. Can’t Wait! We have a feeling it’s going to be a big Kelis-inspired number with great dance potential.

Introducing… Rochelle Jordan

Rochelle started singing as child trying to emulate what she saw from 90′s RNB acts such as Aaliyah, Kelis, Nicole Wray, TLC, 702 and Missy Elliot. Pursing this dream as a teenager landed her a by chance meeting with Toronto Producer “D10″ who happens to be the same producer that produced Drake out of Toronto. D10 offered Rochelle the chance to sing backup for another rising star at the time Keisha Chante. That experience made Rochelle realize that she could really do the same thing and started making the transition from backup to lead.

Video Premiere: “Brave” by Kelis

7

As one of our best friends puts it, this has got to be the cheapest video ever made of all time. Still, we are glad she released this track as a single, it’s on of the best songs on the album Fleshtone and it’s much better than its predecessor. Also, Kelis is beautiful enough to turn any shot into a music video.

Robyn talks to the NY Times

Robyn’s second addition to her trilogy, Body Talk PT2, blows Body Talk PT1 out of the water. We love almost every track on the new album and our favorites are “Hang With Me (Dance Mix),” “Criminal Intent,” “Love Kills” and “U Should Know Better” featuring Snoop Dogg. This year is Robyn, Kelis and SiA’s year!

Kelis confirms “Scream” as third single

1

In a move to boost the measly sales of her great album Fleshtone, Kelis left of a myriad of great songs like “22nd Century” and “Brave” for the less exciting Guetta-produced “Scream,” which sounds like a trance reject in its heyday. Let’s hope we see a fourth single and this video is not done in yet another desert.
