La Roux unleashes official cover of “Gold Edition”
3Grammy winning duo La Roux are putting together a package for all the people who loved their first effort. It’s called Gold Edition an it’s out now.
La Roux announce details of new album!
La Roux are straying away from the sound that made them who they are and are venturing into a whole other genre. Elly Jackson, the visible half of the duo, has said “My vocal style’s changed [for] one, so that’s going to be different. It’s a bit deeper and rounder and sexier … and definitely the musical style’s going to change, as well.”

2Official cover and first listen for Goldfrapp’s single “Rocket”
3Goldfrapp are set to debut their first single off of their new album Head First. “Rocket” is a return to form, but still a different direction. It’s less experimental dance and more club ready. The artwork’s a bit La Roux, though. Click below to listen to the track. (Thanks Jorge for the heads up).
Official cover to La Roux’s “Quicksand”
Basking in the success of their singles that came after this one, La Roux has decided to re-release the song that made waves for them. Although “Quicksand” is not the greatest song on La Roux, it’s still catchy. With a couple of dance remixes, it will do them justice.
Cover for La Roux’s “I’m Not Your Toy”
We loves us some artwork and La Roux have been very eye-catching when it comes to sleeves. This time around the duo opted for less of a futuristic look and more of a 21st-century royalty image. She looks good and fashionable sensible, if we may say so. The song should put them on the map of popdom. From here, it’s probably another single release and then work on another album. They’ve got to keep the buzz going.
Must-Watch: Video: “I’m Not Your Toy” by La Roux
As we said before, 2009 is La Roux’s year and this track is the cherry on the top. It’s one of those tracks that a band leaves for emergencies, in case an album tanks. La Roux has a whole lot of hidden gems on there, but this along with “Bulletproof” are the highlights. This could be remixed to be a great club tune with its distinctive riff and her squeaky vocals.
La Roux to release “I’m Not Your Toy” as single
It’s La Roux’s year…
4What a year it has been for La Roux. The duo that everyone mistakes for Elly Jackson, but, in reality, includes Ben Langmaid, who is behind the scenes but half of it. Out of all the bands pitted to take over 2009, La Roux wins the proverbial cup. When I first was introduced to them I thought the band was too concept-driven and stuck in a different time to penetrate this Rihanna market. But, it turns out La Roux had some solid hits hidden behind “Quicksand.” Both other singles were stronger: “In For The Kill” and “Bulletproof.” Other tracks that titillate on the debut album are “I’m Not Your Toy” and “As If By Magic.” Also, it is important to note that they’re other strong feature is their visual conceptualizing. Their videos are some of the best we’ve seen this year.

Today must be electroday or something, all these videos are suddenly out. Good song, great video. It reminds me of “With Every Hearbeat” by Robyn and Kleerup. Lovely!

La Roux gate crashes party in Paris
This is the first time I see La Roux out of a music video and in interview/chatter mode. The live performance sounds good and the closing credits song sounds absolutely fabulous. I hope it’s on the album. My gaydar went off a bit. What do you think?

The visuals to La Roux are amusing. “Quicksand” was great and now “In For The Kill” is up to par.
La Roux is In For The Kill

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is what I am talking about. The album cover that titillates and is of justice to the content on the album. There’s a reason why everything is fading away from the physical format of album except the album cover. It’s because its a one-snap photo synopsis of the album.
Introducing… La Roux
Synth it up. Can’t wait for more.
